THE GOOD: -Graphics -New plays -Heisman Mode -In-Season Recruiting in Dynasty -Up-to-date rosters -Up-to-date Poll rankings -New Summer Camp drills -NCAA March Madness 06 Demo -Before game Corso pick -Impact PlayersTHE BAD: -Bad Sound Track -Controls are hard to adjust to at first SUMMARY: Presentation (+):
The main menu has enhanced greatly. Now, instead of seeing your favorite team players doing whatever they do, you get to see random team clips from last year of amazing plays and breaks. Loading screens are filled with colorful art of football, a more mature version of NFL Street art.
Graphics (?):
The graphics have gotten more colorful from the gritty and realistic feel of last year's version. Now players have added for color to them. It's hard to decide if it's enhanced, the same, or declined from the last.
Sound (-):
The voiceovers of Corso and Co. are good, but they say the same things from last year. Yeah, you get to see them, but let's add some new stuff! And my biggest disappointment, the Sound Track. It's horrible. After hearing that, I wish that they would have kept College Sounds as their Sound Track.
Gameplay (+):
The new ability to play as your own created character in Heisman Race, the ability to Recruit In-Season in Dynasty, and the ability to play in Summer Drills such as Oklahoma; but let's talk about the real gameplay because you know all that's a plus. The new features of gameplay is mainly Impact Players. Impact Players don't do much to your game, but it's fun to juke someone out or truck a RB in Matrix Version. Of course, they're the best guys on your team (most of the time), but it does nothing much other than let you know your best players. But the new controls are hard to get a hang of from 2005, but you can set the controls back to 2005 controls so it rules out that flaw.
Lasting Appeal (+):
Of course, if you're a NCAA Football Fan, you know Dynasty Mode lasts up to 20 years with those new features. But the biggest edition: Heisman Mode. Of course, unlike Madden, you can only stay in the mode for either 3 or 4 years, depending on if you want to be drafted your Junior season. But the replay value of this Mode is great, depending on if you get bored easy. For unlike Madden, you now have to try to compete greater to win the awards, you have to try and guide your team into the Top 25 or more importantly to #1 (whereas in Madden you just have to win about 9 games, depending on other team's records, to get into the playoffs) so if you can't get your fill of College Football, the Lasting Appeal of Heisman and Dynasty are great.

Best College Football Game Ever | 5.0 0 comments |

THE GOOD: +Race for the Heisman. +Dynasty Mode. +Mini games. +New offensive moves. +Impact players. +Good commentary.THE BAD: -Um... uh... the, um... it would be better if... uh... SUMMARY: This football game is absolutely perfect. The only game that is as good as it would be last years NCAA Football 2005. The main thing that I liked was the Race for the Heisman, a season mode where you take your created character through college tryouts, four different seasons (and dorm rooms!), while trying to accomplish the ultimate goal - winning the Heisman. When you first play the game, instead of going to the main menu, you go straight to the Race for the Heisman. You then create your character, and tryout for a college team. You then move into your dorm room, where you can do things like read fan mail, practice different plays, and view your schedule. You also have a "Heisman Meter", which lets you know how close you are to winning the Heisman. If you don't like that, you could also try Dynasty Mode. A new feature that's been introduced this year is the "In Season Recruiting", where you can track high school prospects, and meet with them to get them to join your team. You can also play new mini games like the Oklahoma Drill. Once you actually start playing football games, you'll notice that there are new offensive moves and impact players. Lastly, the three person commentary team actually makes some sense.
I would tell you about the bad factors of the game, except, there really aren't any. I loved this game, and I highly recommend it for college (or just regular) football fans. |
