Call of Duty for the PS2 | 4.7 0 comments |

THE GOOD: Awesome graphics, great scenery of the cities you fight in and also realistic. Guns sounds are SWEET! So realistic it will blow your mind away. The creators took actual guns from the Second World War and recorded them shooting the weapons as well as reloading. I love it.THE BAD: ...Bad? This game doesn't know the meaning of bad. No multiplayer using PS2 Online or just plain 2 player. SUMMARY: Wonderful interactivity with the surrounding area and other soldiers, realistic gun battles (in terms of gunshots) and great, kickass levels. As an Elite Special Force soldier, you first ride into D-Day on the Higgins Boats, then after fight in battles in the St. Lo district, and soon after that jump into Holland in Operation Market-Garden.
The controls are somewhat odd compared to the original Medal of Honor game, but they can still be dealt with. If you have played Tom Clancy's "Ghost Recon" or even "Rainbow Six" you will jump right into the game and never look back.
All in all - I love this game, and the only drawback it holds for now is that it doesn't have 2 Player mode or Multiplayer.
Overall = 4.7/5 Grade: A |

Medal of Honor: Frontline Review by MLD | 5.0 0 comments |

When "Saving Private Ryan" came out in theaters, I fell in love with that movie. I went to the theater six times to watch it. That movie was powerful. The script was well written, the acting was top notch, the special effects were mind numbing. It is by far the best World War 2 movie ever made. So, when this game was released all I could think of was the movie that I loved. And boy, did this game seem like the film, without trying to copy the movie. From the music, level settings, and weapons. This game was perfect for me. I usually don't play too many first person shooters, but the Medal of Honor games are my favorites. And they are the only ones in my collection for first person shooting games. I hope that the Medal of Honor games continue to be released. I know that you can only do so much with a game based from World War 2, but the brains behind the title will definitely work their magic with the new titles. I'm sure of it. Presentation It's based on World War 2, so that should tell you what is going on in the game. You have to do missions based on different locations. From storming Omaha Beach in the first level, to hiding inside a crate to go inside a submarine. There is a mission where you need to disable vehicles in different parts of a town so you won't be followed. All the levels have a different feel and approach to them. It doesn't seem like you are doing the same thing over and over. The controls can take a few levels to get used to, if you've never played a Medal of Honor game before. But once you get the feel for the controls, they are not a problem. I had to learn them all over again and I've played the first two games before. But soon I was taking out Nazi's from close and far without any problems. You cannot hate this game if you are a World War 2 buff. I'm in that category so therefore I love this game. Even those who might not like World War 2, but enjoy first person shooters can have fun playing this title. And if you've never played the first two games, you should give them a try. You'll love them if you enjoyed this game. 10/10 Graphics No problems here. Very clean and no glitches to be seen by myself while playing. The towns in the game look like they were designed from the actual towns during the war. The characters look very real, even the faces have a personality to them. Much better then the PS1 games. And those games were very good in the graphic department as well. 10/10 Sound If you needed to be motivated to play this game, the sound alone will get you hooked. The music alone has a "Saving Private Ryan" feel to it. The voices of the soldiers yelling to each other sounds very realistic. And as for the weapons, it's as if they recorded real weapons and placed those sounds in the game. Even the vehicles sound very real! 10/10 Gameplay From the beginning of the game, to the final level, the action never stops. This game is packed full of shooting and thinking. From trying to take out a tank, to having to snipe out guards who are also trying to snipe you for the kill. This game has it all! And your weapons to choose from are sweet to use. The only problem is that a few of the larger weapons are not too accurate. You can target a soldier and shoot 30 rounds and not even hit him. It's probably because the gun shakes too much, which could be a realistic feature that was added to the weapon. 10/10 Lasting Appeal If you are a perfectionist like me, you will replay the levels and get all the gold stars for them. It unlocks extras in the game, which are nice to watch. Too bad they didn't include the multiplayer from the PS1 games. That was a fun addition to the game, and I enjoyed playing against my brother in a one VS one shoot out. 10/10

THE GOOD: this game is one of the best medal of honor games i have ever played. it is also the best WWII game i have ever played. the graphics are very excellent, and the buildings, ships, submarines, and the surroundings are very detailed. the weapons are also very kool. the are very realistic to the weapons they used in WWII. the music and sound of the natzis is heart pumping. the enemy A.I. is very good and the enemies react to pretty much anything.
THE BAD: the worst possible thing i can say about the game is the controld. theyare very hard to get used to and there are many different buttons you have to learn. SUMMARY: i give this game a 4.5 out of 5.0 because of the controls. graphics-5.0 gameplay-5.0 sound-5.0 controls-4.0 replayability-5.0 this is a wonderful game but you probably should rent it firts to see if you like the controls or not. |

Medal of Honor Frontline | 5.0 0 comments |

General/Summary: Another Medal of Honor--Another hit... but once again, simply doesn't reach it's full potential. Read ahead if you wish to understand a truly unbiased review of Medal of Honor: Frontline. Gameplay: Well.... This area has to be the most difficult to score when it comes to Medal of Honor: Frontline. First of all, this area varies according to how familiar the player is with FPS's. If you don't know what a FPS is, I recommend you not purchase this game, but rather rent it... if you know, which I'm hoping, and like FPS's, this is definitely a buy for owners. The controls of this game to begin with, although difficult, should be quick to learn for any person that plays many FPS's.... If you don't often play such games, allow a LOT of time to go towards understanding the controls--especially considering the first level will probably scare you quite near death, and with the first level's quick pace, you may very nearly be in too much shock to actually experience and get used to the controls. Many people also compare MoH to games such as Halo--and despite the fact that they're both FPS, they can NOT be contrasted!! Where MoH shines is NOT in killing aliens or such life forms, but rather becoming part of a war experience. Many of the enjoyments in games such as Halo come from the unique and unrealistic weapons that appear--but using such would not create the atmosphere that the makers of MoH planned upon developing. One must take into consideration, that if a WW II setting is not what one enjoys, but rather shoot up the phantasmal creatures, this is NOT a good purchase for you. Due to the unnecessary length for me to type out the following in paragraph form, I will simply list the Pros and Cons abuot gameplay in MoH: FL.
Pros: 1. Realistic battles and WW II setting (including weapons) 2. Similar controls (of course changeable) to any other FPS 3. Stimulating/Putting you on edge
Cons: 1. Fairly short game... not as if games such as Halo arent' short... but I'm still desiring to see a FPS that takes just a bit more time??? 2. No Multiplayer (although not bad for everyone, this kinda made me ticked) 3. HORRIBLE REPLAY VALUE (This is a game to rent!)
Graphics: The graphics of MoH: FL are not horrendous, or even so bad as to be considered "OK." They are good. However, they are not magnificent. From the PS 2 i own, the graphics are decent, with realistic explosions, fakey looking fire, pitifully done water, well detailed scenery/weapons, verryy well done facial features. Not many complaints here.. so all's good. But, if you're looking for a game that should win graphics of the year award, don't come running to this one.
Sound: In my opinion, I believe this is where the game TRULY makes it's largest impact. Although sound is often considered a minor part of any video game, the sounds used are extremely realistic and place you into the environment. Air planes sound liek airplanes, tanks sound like tanks, explosions like explosions, well done voice acting, etc etc. The realistic sounds make up for any non-realistic graphics (which aren't that frequent), creating a wonderful environment. This game is truly more for the environment than the shoot em up effect. |

THE GOOD: Authentic Weaponary fro WWII, Excellent Enemy Ai, Stunning Graphics and terrific missions. THE BAD: Nothing Really. SUMMARY: You start off playing in D-day. I couldn't help but marvel in awe as I looked around in my surroundings and the amount of detail in the game. Bombs falling into the water making huge spashes, bullets tearing up the ground, huge bomb blasts rising up the dirt as your playing. The detail was absolutley amazing. It was as if you were truly there fighting. The weapons you hold in the game are extrmemly detailed and authentic weaponary from WW2. The gameplay was by far the best part. Your missions consist of foiling the Nazi plans in many different way. These include infilitrating and sabotaging submarines, seizing bridges, and even destroying the Nazi war machine. Its sheer brilliance. The levels take you to run down cities, underwater, onto the war grounds and even through country feilds. It is awesome. The enemy ai is extrememly polished and there are many missions to keep you entertained for a long time. This game has enough of a challenge to keep the average gamer going for a long time in my opinion. I thought the presentation in the game was also excellent if you look as D-day (the first level) and the mission objectives have been made so they are totally cool.
Overall this game is by far one of if not the best shooters on PS2. If you are looking for a shooting game this is first on your list. You will NOT be dissapointed. An excellent game. Simply a work of art.

The best shooter ever! | 5.0 0 comments |
by lkjhgfdsa from Marneri, Argonath, IANTA | Apr 11, 2003 |
THE GOOD: The good parts to this game go on and on. It has great graphics, and realistic backgrounds, the A.I. for both allies and enemies is good, the missions are diverse and unique, and the weapons all have their own qualities and uses. The Objectives you're asked to complete are fun and interesting, and the gameplay in general is a hoot.THE BAD: The bads are few and small. The A.I., while good, had its flaws. The game comes with a few glitches that stain it's good Graphics, and I found the game a little too short. SUMMARY: all in all, if you don't mind the occasional man passing through a wall, and then blowing himself up, then you'll love this masterful First person Shooter. |

Realism huh? | 1.5 0 comments |

THE GOOD: "Realism"THE BAD: Creating frustration trying to aim while the whole screen shakes, no clear objective given directly unless checking for "hints", the incredibly below-average intro scene that everyone says is worth to spend money for... SUMMARY: Don't be too receptive if you hear that this game is one of the good games. Be critical! (even with my review here) Everyone tends to say that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover; not this one. I'm sure most of you will know how good a game is from just even playing a demo. The graphics are alright for a war game, sound is pretty good, presentation sucks, controls are well... FPS -ish... nothing new there. Plus the game is quite short and there is not much replay value once you finish unless you are going to challenge yourself. If you want a good shooter TIME SPLITTERS 2 is far better than this one! Sure the game is tough to beat but that doesn't make it better or make other players who find this game disappointing "pansies". |

THE GOOD: The graphics, guns, realism... Need I say more.THE BAD: The controls are a pain, but once you get them down you are on a role! SUMMARY: This is the kind of game that makes you think how badly the real people of the war had it. The game is really a great shooter plus who doesn't want to kill Nazis! You not only kill Nazis, but you get to destroy trucks, U-boats, machinery, steal blueprints, and much, much more. I recommend this game for your PS2 needs! |

A new kind of Halo | 5.0 0 comments |
by Darknet from Indiana, , USA | Nov 18, 2002 |
THE GOOD: The graphics, the action, the weapons, the sound and it looks so real.THE BAD: Well sometimes you fight a lot of people and well its very easy to get killed. SUMMARY: One of the best games around. The first level will leave your jaw dropped to the ground. The sound is so real it actually sounds like your in the war. and what I like about it is that the each level is a challenge not some wimpy stuff its great to play if you love to be challenged. But the thing I love most is how it resembles WW2 its like your there.
So I would recommened this if 1 out of 10 a 9. |
