THE GOOD: The first 6 X games in one disk Bonus unlockable game PS1 version of X3 instead of SNES version Almost everything the games had before remain intact. Some unlockable content. Like pictures and soundtracksTHE BAD: No MMX Anime episode! The voice acing in X6 should have been translatted instead of it taking out. SUMMARY: After the Mega Man Anniversary Collection they decided to release an X Collection huh? What a great idea! Especially with the rare and expensive X2 and X3. Unlike the Anniversary Collection this one includes 7 games instead of 10 and they are Mega Man X1-X6 and Battle Chase (Which needs to be unlocked first). Read what I have to say below:
Graphics: These are old-school graphics here but they still look good but don't expect XBox/360 graphics here. In X1-X3 the sprites are kind of small and in X4-X6 they are bigger. Some of the backgrounds look nice too. They could have updated the graphics atleast a little though and that's what prevents it from getting any higher than a 7. Rating: 7/10
Gameplay: It's Mega Man. You what to do. Pick a stage, shoot the enemies in the stage (Or slash if you're using Zero), Face the boss and beat him. X1-X3 has the same basic gameplay while it changes a little in X4-X6 (Mostly due to Zero) but not a lot. Some games do have annoyances though. Like X3 with it's high difficulty and X6 with it's nightmare system. And in Battle and Chase you race since it's a racing game. It can get kind of hard at times too. Rating: 9/10
Music: Some great music we have here. Storm Owl's and Split Mushroom's music get's stuck in my head a lot and also a lot of X6's music does too! I might even think about recording some of the music! Rating: 10/10
Value: Their's a lot of that here especially since this is a compilation and the unlockable Battle and Chase and other bonus stuff. And the games don't get boring after you beat them either. Also the games collecting all of the armor and heat pieces can keep you busy too. Rating: 10/10
Overall: Basically if you are interested in platformers at all then this game is worth it for the $30 price tag. Now when will we get a Mega Man Zero Collection?
