THE BAD:
Somewhat shallow gameplay
Not much replay value to be had
Slowdowns
Soundtrack doesn't stick out much, even from an atmospherical point of view
SUMMARY:
The Mark of Kri is a game not too many people talk about. I mean, yeah, it was one of the more hyped up and talked about games in 2002, but eventually became a forgotten gem. Gee, could it be because of games that rip this off? Shadow of Rome and God of War, maybe? Well, whoever or whatever it was, it made this game slip under everyone's radars, only to be a collector's item. For shame...
The game centers around a barbaric mute warrior known as Rau, and his bird Kuzo. Rau...
THE BAD:
.The Game Is A Bit Too Short
.The Game Only Has 4 Weapons Rau can Fight With
SUMMARY:
This game overall is very good. It provides a very decent challenge. Though there are only only 6 levels, each level is long enough so to be equivalent to the lengths of other games. The game features several attack combos Rau can use with the 4 weapons: Sword, Bow(No Attack Combos, only Used For Dispatching Enemies At a Range), Taiaha(Spear), and Axe:
.Fua Toko Rutu
.Fua Toko Faahu
.Fua Usu Rutu
.Fua Usu Faahu
.Rae'eau
*Press R1 to defend against an attack from any direction.
Each weapon has its good and bad.
Sword:
Good: A very fast attacking weapon,...
THE BAD:
Linear gameplay. Once the axe is gained, kind of loses it's awesome stealth focus. The arenas are poke out your eyes hard. Disarming the fat guy and dropping the axe bomb on his head with his own weapon. Damn that boy is bad.
SUMMARY:
Great graphics, good sound, and superb gameplay make MoK a solid game for anybody's PS2 library. The stealth kills alone provide endless amusement and the extras provide lots of opportunities to replay the game...especially the harder challenges involving stealth killing multiple opponents. Just an all around great game with no glaring problems that is fun to play and fun to watch.
THE BAD:
Short game, makes you long for more.
SUMMARY:
The game takes you through nine different levels, where inbetween each you will learn new skills and gain new weapons.
The fighting system is easy to use and fun to watch, with varied special attacks. You can also lock onto and fight upto 9 enemies at once. Allowing for some spectacular fight scenes.
Each level is far different from the first, and has you only guessing what will be next. They make you think about usefull strategies, while also letting you let loose and slash swords.
The game is definatly a good fighting adventure game, that I recommend for anybody. I also can't wait to see it's 2 sequels.
THE BAD:
-too short
SUMMARY:
Well the mark of kri is a great game. There is a new style of fighting and lots of killing. Only 4 weapons to chose from but you dont really need more. The levels are really long and there are no real "Boss" fights. The stroy is great and has a good ending(IMO). if you like games where you can chop peoples heads off you should get this.
THE BAD:
-not long enough
-levels are a bit too long
-more weapons would be nice
-sometimes it's hard to move your character
SUMMARY:
Overall this is a great game.Needs alot more levels and weapons though(only has six levels and four weapons) but still a great game
THE BAD:
The fighting/tracking system lacks a little and is a bit one-sided. The camera has a few hang-ups, and moving around things can be a bit of a chore.
SUMMARY:
This game is a highly unique experience and is based on quite an original idea. You are a buffed-out no-holds barred one man wrecking machine with an avian ally wandering the countryside looking for a fight. That alone should be enough to get some people excited. The storyline and voice overs are top-notch and your quest to find the spell (The Mark of Kri) is downright cool. The different kills and executions rock, to put it quite bluntly, and wandering through the landscapes is an awe-inspiring adventure.
The game is very linear, which may prove to be a disappointment to some, and its length is a bit short, but the replay value is...
THE BAD:
Perhaps a tiny bit linear, but I am only on the second level.
SUMMARY:
Well, I pretty much summed it up in the good part, the game delivers as being very unique and original, to the point where other games will mimic this form of sweep, pick and choose combat. The scenery is simply stunning an what I really enjoyed was the load screens. As your next...
