THE GOOD:
- Excellent graphics.
- Very accurate storyline.
- Play all of the characters from episodes 1, 2 and 3.
- 2 player co-op drop in/ drop out.
- Play all of the episodes.
- Funny cut-scenes.
- Lego makes the game much more enjoyable.
- Never gets old!

THE BAD:
- Not much speaking in the cut-scenes, it's just mainly mumbles and grunts.

SUMMARY:
Lego Star Wars is a very enjoyable game, which never gets boring. You play through episodes 1, 2 and 3, using the Force to get through tricky obstacles, collecting Minikits and picking up Lego Studs as you go through. By collecting Minikits, you gradually build famous Star Wars vehicles. There are loads of things to buy with your Lego Studs, including characters and funny cheats. Each episode contains 5-6 levels inside, which tell the story very much like in the films, but in Lego! If you are a very skilled Jedi, then you will unlock a secret level. (I'm not giving out too much information, I might ruin the surprise!)

I first saw this game when I was round my friend's house. We played it and I thought it was extremely fantastic, so I got it. This is a great game, definitely get it if you like both Star Wars and Lego!

THE GOOD:
  • Wide variety of characters
  • Simple yet creative gameplay
  • Cool Jedi moves
  • Great multiplayer fun

    THE BAD:

  • The missing dialogue can create confusion for those that don't follow the series
  • Could've lasted longer

    SUMMARY:
Lego Star Wars takes you through Star Wars episodes I,II, and III, and allows you to control Jedi Knights and any other characters they may come in contact with. You'll fight your way through armies of droids and learn to use the Force within you to maneuver your way around any obstacles you might encounter.

After defeating and interatcing with certain characters, they will become unlocked and playable. You can then take them through Free Mode and have the most noble of Jedis fight alongside one of the many evil Counts.

Although the game isn't extremely long, the gameplay is constantly changing and you'll soon find yourself completing pod races, deflecting shots with your saber, and simply hacking through enemies using Jedi moves.

The Lego graphics are fun to play with, but the fact that the characters don't talk can minimize your comprehension of the situation at hand.

Overall, Lego Star Wars is a fun adventure game, and even more exciting with a friend! Check it out today.

    THE GOOD:
Funny animations. Cool battles. Has all three episodes. AND DARTH VADER! Secret Episode. Cool models where you collect parts, to creat ship models. Play as 30 characters, even the bad guys. Good Graphics.

    THE BAD:
There is no interaction really. In other words they don't talk they point. I think there should have been text. There were no other lightsaber techniques, you just pushed square. (same thing with guns.)

    SUMMARY:
I love this game. Even if this game is for young kids, it's still pretty fun for me. I think if they make another one (for 4,5,6) they should make it longer and harder. I really liked the levels where you could fly space ships, and star cruisers, they were really fun.
    Favorite characters
    Darth Maul
    General Grievous
    and of course DARTH VADER!

    THE GOOD:
Everything!!!! jkjkjk The many characters that you can play as, buy, or fight is really cool. the graphics are quite decent, special abilties, episode 1,2, and 3 gives you a lot more to do. easy to learn yet hard to master. Getting 100% is difficult because of all the things you have to collect which keeps you busy and entertained. Piloting vehicles is also very cool, (pod racer, starfighter, etc.)Overall an excellent game that is well worth the price.

    THE BAD:
The only thing that i do not like about this game is that it's a bit short. an extra level in any or all episodes or something would amke it better.

    SUMMARY:
If your even slightly considering getting this game, GET IT! It is very worth the price. There is so much to do in every level and using the force and special abilities of teh many characters is awesome. Overall an excellent game!

    THE GOOD:
    - Fantastic graphics
    - Everything looks so cute in LEGO!
    - All the best characters from the prequel trilogy are playable
    - Nice, varied missions
    - Excellent replay value
    - A proper multiplayer co-operative
    - Genuinely funny
    - The Battle of Coruscant mission is something to behold!

    THE BAD:
    - Very simplistic first time through
    - Easy to finish story mode
    - No dialogue
    - There's a mission missing from "Episode II"
    - Headache-inducing stud hunting for that perfect Jedi meter
    - Cute spin on "Episode III" a shakey idea

    SUMMARY:
The comparison is easy to make: dark action/adventure lightsaber combat taking place along the storyline of "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" with movie footage, or cute children's game featuring the entire prequel trilogy in LEGO form, simplistic platformer approach, and jokes. Hang on... are they really using the same source material? Well, mostly.

"LEGO Star Wars" is a simple concept. Take the Star Wars prequel trilogy, make everything look like LEGO, take out the voices and add over-the-top comedy gesturing and water down the gameplay to make it kid-friendly. This idea works absolutely brilliantly for "Episode I: The Phantom Menace", in which the already brightly-coloured children's film appears to need little tweaking to fit the LEGO market. "Episode II: Attack of the Clones" works to a certain extent as well, and the lack of the noticable darker shift in plot from the film is made up for by the excellent "Jedi Battle" mission which takes place in the crowded Geonosian Arena. However, the sinister galaxy of "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" that features murdered kids, headless droids, 'armless Sith Lords and the burning alive of a certain young Jedi is lost in "LEGO Star Wars", replaced by funny-looking Wookies, dumb Clonetroopers and a less-than-scary Darth Sidious. Thank goodness the gameplay is so easy to grasp and yet so rewarding, otherwise because of a few missions this game could be getting a lower score.

Easy to grasp because you only ever use about three buttons. X makes you jump, Square makes you shoot/swing your lightsaber, and Circle uses your character's special ability, be this the Force to pull apart LEGO objects and reconstruct them into something helpful like a bridge or a droid's hacking ability to get past certain doors. Even if these simple combinations of moves proves difficult and you get blasted by the enemy, your character regenerates with full health and only a small loss of "studs": this platformer's version of gold coins. Collecting more studs gives you more money to buy characters or cheats from Dex's Diner, that bar on Coruscant from "Episode II: Attack of the Clones" owned by the four-armed version of Jabba the Hutt. Seriously, all the characters are playable: from the expected heroes like Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker to lesser people like Clones, General Grievous, the MagnaGuards and even Darth Sidious (the Emperor himself). Probably the hardest character to control is Yoda. He either hobbles along at snail's pace, or hovers on his special hovering chair. When he gets his lightsaber out, however, he's all over the place and challenging to keep track of, even though you've just pressed one button.

Three missions are available which take place in vehicles, too. The Boonta Eve podrace from "Episode I: The Phantom Menace" is blindingly fast, a Republic Gunship from "Episode II: Attack of the Clones" is flyable in a destroy-anything-that-moves mission, and probably the best-looking experience on PlayStation2 to date, the Battle of Coruscant from "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" is a chance to get dizzy while guiding your craft between Star Destroyers, buzz droids and Tri-Droid Fighters. So, there's variety in the gameplay, but is it worth coming back to? You'll complete story mode the first time through in about two, maybe two and a half hours. Replay is an absolute must, however: buying bonus characters is very much worth it, unlocking the "Mini-Kit" secret vehicles to add to your garage is a bountiful passtime, and once you've collected all the studs you can possibly collect, there is a secret mission from "Episode IV: A New Hope" in which Darth Vader (yes, also playable) hunts for Princess Leia aboard the Tantive IV... you know, the one from the beginning with all the shooting on it. Not only that, but a friend can always drop in and out of gameplay simply by plugging in a second controller. The entire game is one big multiplayer if you choose.

It is rare these days to find a game that is purely "fun to play". You either need gangsters and illegal violence or very fast cars to make a successful game in recent years, but "LEGO Star Wars" does things differently, adds a little immature humour to a platform idea and makes you look at a series of films in a different light. It would have scored higher if it wasn't for the brilliant dark nature of "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" being so difficult to transfer to a children's game, but considering that, the developers have done well. Go and find a copy to get in touch with your inner child. It's worth it.
