Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil

THE GOOD:
- Great, "Cartoony" graphics.

Well, to start off with, the graphics are awesome. Very "cartoony" and it fits the game perfectly.(They're kinda like the graphics in Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex) In fact, they are some of the greatest graphics I've ever seen on a PS2 game, despite being an early release. Also, these graphics don't lead to frustratingly annoying loading times, like so many oter early releases.

THE GOOD:
This is basically your same Klonoa game like the last but with a bit more of a twist. It's still a little of the walk along and grabbing monsters to overcome obsticles, but there's more to it than that now. With the increase of the 3D effects in the game, Klonoa looks better than ever. This game also includes fun activities of snowboarding and surfing around which makes it different from the old game. The background surroundings are a lot more creative in design and have placed some good background history in some of the places you end up in, such as the town that continue to fight against each other. This game also contains new characters and inventive evil monsters and enemies to battle. The soundtracks are very funny and good to listen to. Some of the best stuff I've heard that you can try to sing along too. Ha ha. Kidding.

THE BAD:

SUMMARY:
Klonoa 2 is a game like no other. First to begin with, it is an adventure type game where you control Klonoa and go through various 3D, and fully detailed environments. There are lots of things to do as Klonoa can jump, use his glove thing (forgot the name x_X) to grab onto something else, and then jump again. The game is very versatile because when you least expect something to happen, that's when the game makes a twist and brings out all the stops. It is a cel-shaded 3D game which changes throughout when you get to certain area (like the camera changes to a different perspective). It is really fun to play since it's a bit long, and the boss battles are quite interesting and some of them require you to think of a way to harm the boss.

Wow, i'm impressed, this game is sooo good. The beggining part is boring but the rest of the game is fun.

I espesally like the waterfall stage where you chase the twins, ......... sooooo fun, i suggest this game, it is da bomb....

Fans of the old "get to the end of the level" games will instantly fall in love with Klonoa 2. The game returns to the roots of platform games, the 2D sidescroller, but adds the aspect of a three dimensional field.

You play as young Klonoa, the Dream Traveler, who is sent on a journey with his new friends, Lolo, an apprentice priestess and Popka, her good friend and sidekick, to restore peace and harmony to the troubled world of Lunatea.

The game can accomidate both single player and two player gameplay, where the second player would take the role of Popka, and aid Klonoa (Player 1) throughout their adventures.

If you want to get your moneys worth, rent "Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil." Why is it worth renting? I'll tell you. If you rent this game, I am positive you'll beat this game in about 3 days. And why would you want to rent a game that takes weeks to beat? You wouldn’t get your moneys worth if you rented “Final Fantasy X” because it takes forever to beat, and the stores only let you rent for about 5 days only. So I say rent “Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil”! And plus, this game is really fun!

Outstandingly awesome cel-shaded graphics that would make the cast of Jet Grind Radio proud. Old-school 16-bit platforming action, with fabulous gameplay to match the equally-fab graphical engine. The sound is wonderfully joyful, which suits this particular product perfectly.

THE BAD:
Too short. Too easy. Umm, too short and too easy just about sums it up.

SUMMARY:
Playing the first game in this short series was nothing short of excellent, as the 2.5D action/platformer sought out simply to satisfy those of us with a craving for what was once in abundance. Klonoa wasn't exactly a graphical showpiece for the PSone, yet it exemplified what could be achieved without the extra-extravagant use of polygons and pre-rendered backdrops. Instead of doing what everyone else was doing, Klonoa embraced nostalgia and gave a shout out to Mario in the process, with its excellent pacing, fairy tale story, and wow-factor...

THE GOOD:
This game had moderatly easy controls, long gameplay and OK story. If you are interested in spending a good amount of time on a game then this would right for you. I personally beat it when I rented it, but I am a fairly skilled player.

THE BAD:
The graphics are 2-D. Though this did not bother me that much It does need to be said. this is not a very easy column to be filled for I thouroghly enjoyed this game.

SUMMARY:
In conclusion I am glad that I rented this game instead of spending the full $50 that I would of payed at Electronics stores such as BABBAGES. If you are at least a moderately skilled video gamer you wont need to buy this game.
