Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland

THE GOOD:
Graphics and sound is good. Your character looks more mature and has a new look. The characters look pretty good. And you can ride your horse out of town. And if your dog is smart enough, he might just follow you anywhere when you call him. And you actually have to find a way to save the town so, you can't just sit and play right. And you can do some part-time jobs at the Brownie Farm. You can mine in your yard. And making money is really easy. And you don't need speed to catch fish. Just a good fishing rod.

THE BAD:
No festivals and marriage makes this a boring game sometimes. And you cant get the help of your sprites. You only have one year to save the home. even if you can repeat a new year, the people won't recognize you. You can only plant 4 kinds of plants. And one bag of seed is equal to one portion of land.

SUMMARY:
So, STH is a good game if you're an need-to-accomplish-mission kind of gamer....

THE GOOD:
Its harvest moon
A really cool character, what with the long hair, and he looks older and better than any of the other ones on previous harvest moon games. A new town, and a couple new characters

THE BAD:
just like its adversary on the gamecube "harvest moon: a wonderful life" this game has a million bad things! no marriage sucks thats one of the best parts about harvest moon THERE ARE NO FREAKIN FESTIVALS, i mean thats what harvest moon is known for, its awesome festivals.
the graphics are very outdated, i mean....there not even trying anymore...it sucks

SUMMARY:
I was very disappointed in hearing that this game is as bad, if not worse than "a wonderful life" for the gamecube if a harvest moon game does not have festivals and no marriage, than its not worth it. unless you like spending your entire gaming time growing crops and trying to save the homeland, than you dont want this...

THE GOOD:
The gameplay is smooth, and subtle. There's really no need for a quick-draw camera, though it is presented as a problem at times, and the controls are all simple enough, and hassle-free.

The graphics are very simplistic. With a world of water-colors and anime-inspired character designs, everything is pleasing to the eye without being too bland. The effects are cool too. When it rains, you can see the storm heading in from the ocean view of your farm. Although my favorite is the way the wind blow waves into the grassy field on the farm.

The music is quirky, but calm. With piano-keys playing along to plucking strings, piping flutes, and an occasional accordian; the music is great, but also repetitive, fourtuneately it changes just in time before it gets too old. The sounds are pretty simple, but lively, with crows crowing, birds chirping, and the nightlife of owls and crickets.

SUMMARY:
Well I recently noticed That you actually CAN GET MARRIED. not a wlole lot of people like this game, it was a serous dissimprovment on the N64 Game.

For one it takes you forever to work for a horse (thats right I said WORK).


Buy something else

Ok, its kinda late to write a review about this game but what the heck.Overall this game is pretty easy, but lacks the old Harvest Moon expieriences and qualities.The endings are easy and fun.You can ride your horse in town.Oh, you can get a different kind of horse and dog.You can cook.Still, I liked Harvest Moon 64, Harvest Moon Back to Nature, Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town, and Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life.All of that I have.I also have Harvest Moon 3 but THAT wasn't that good.I recommend any of the others.This game has multiple endings, but you practically start over each time you do one.9 endings.Beat 7 of them.I didn't like the...

This game isn't the best one I have ever played! There are NO sheep!!!!! What where are the cut cuddly sheep!!What festivles are there in this game? NONE! You can't go to any festevils. So who are you going to marry in this game......what!......you can't marry any one NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I miss the girls already! SUMMARY:
I really didn't like this game to much. It was kinda fun untill I foumd out YOU CAN'T GET MARRIED!!!!!!! Other than the fact that you can't have sheep, puppies get married, the game restarts after every year, and the town's a bit small it's and ok game. If I had to rate this game from 1 to 5 i would probably give it a 2. If someone wanted a harvest moon game I would suggest Back to Nature more than this one. The only good thing about this game is maybe that you could ride your horse into town. Oh yeah I forgot something that also make's this game suck. THE GOOD:
The sound is very nice, the gameplay is good, and it keep you occupied while playing it.

THE BAD:
Time runs so fast, very few things like farm animals and crops compared to the other HMs.

SUMMARY:
Overall, this is one good and hard to find game.

Very soothing and relaxing, the sound is nice and the characters are greatly spoken, the environment is good too.

First non-violent game that I have ever played and liked.

No marriage, no sheep, no festivals, limited house up-grades.

SUMMARY:
This version of Harvest Moon needs some work. The graphics and gameplay are about the only fields on the uprising side of the game. The festivals would be perfect to slip in if they couldn't add marriage. But... The thing that really worries me is the fact that there are no sheep. They would look so cute with the good graphics in this game. There is suppose to be a new Harvest Moon game coming out for Playstation2 in Fall 2003, called Harvest Moon: It's a Beautiful Life. But, it's just a rumor right now, so I'm not exactly sure...
