The Great Escape

SUMMARY:
There are three things that are needed for a good movie adaptation.

1) Needs to be like to the original movie. OK I liked how it is very much like the movie.

2) Can't be to much of one thing, gameplay or otherwise. O.K. Great mix of steath, bang em' up, and driving. (Older 007)

3) Needs an accurate voice over actor(s)/actress(s). O.K. If I were blind I would be thinking it was the movie.

Most magazines are thrashing this game, but I thought it was quite good. In fact it was great! The idea of this game is very Splinter Cell, sneak like crazy. The driving missons are cool, tanks, cars, ect. If you love, like or even know the movie, rent or better than that, buy it.

THE BAD:
The guards A.I is pathetic!!!
First levels are a bit too quick!!

SUMMARY:
Okay, so this game is a re-make of the classic film (And for all the U.K people, is on offer in ASDA for £11.97) and it is a good game.
The levels are easy to start off with, and then get gradually harder. the guards are really crap, as if they see you, they will stand for about 5 seconds, contemplating whether to chase you, giving you time to do a runner!!!!This makes it relatively easy to make an escape (Maybe a GREAT one?!?)
The controls are top notch!!! the use of both analogs sticks are well worked!!!!
The sounds are relatively good. You can tell they have taken Steve McQueens voice directly from the film, but apart from that, they all sound like the real actors.
Okay, so there are better games out, but if you are looking for a stealth...

THE BAD:
-annoying since when you get a certain amount of saves per game.
-sometimes the controls are annoying
-parts can be nearly impossible to accomplish
-grapchis suck, n64 quality
-no way to fight back without getting caught.

SUMMARY:
I rented this game and I had an alright time. The graphics sucked though but the gameplay was fine. It had horrible cutscenes and bad mouth overs. It's hard at some places but always is a challenge. The game starts you out in a plane and then you travel to various concentration camps. I enjoyed how you had to be sneaky. You also went around doing tasks to help you get out. One part was really annoying when you had to crawl into this place and then the gaurd kept getting you. I dunno, but I would maybe rent it at first to see if you like it. It's not bad but not great at the same time.
