THE BAD:
It's a little on the short side even with masters play. Not that your ever going to do that. xD
SUMMARY:
Well it's going to keep you going for a while even if there is only like 10 levels but if your going for gold you have to get all A's on masters play. (impossible) I am loving the music to it i even bought the cd and the characters and levels are just so much fun ecspecialy with the smooth graphics. Gitaroo Man is going to take a while to get used to and you are going to get some real serious skill for it. This is the most original game i have ever played too. I'd give this game about 95% so what are you waiting for go buy the game.
THE BAD:
Well...i would say "the story," but this game has none.
SUMMARY:
The controls are so simple, all you need is an analog stick and the x button, but the game provides quite a challenge. The music is insanely good, and you really feel like you're making the music, not just playing to it (if you mess up on a note, the music stops for however long that note happens to be). The levels are...strange...to say the least, but very different. Not to mention the different types of matches. Some matches are mostly defense (press the corresponding button as it hits a dot in the middle of the screen), but some are mostly offense, and some are a mix between both....
THE BAD:
Ha!
SUMMARY:
This is the most rewarding and enjoyable game i have ever played. It makes my eyes leak with joy that someone could have actually conceptualised something of this quality. It's the reason to own a PS2. It's the reason i get up at the crack of noon. It's the reason to believe in yourself and take the leap.. (the heart has wings).
Superbly animated, great story, colourful graphics and gameplay that you can't shake a stick at!
Master the game as 'U1', a young boy who has a little bit of trouble with a local rival 'Kazuya'. Become the Master of the Legendary Gitaroo and win the heart of your beloved 'Pico' with the help of your faithful doggy pal, 'Puma'. (incidently this game, in my opinion, is worth buying just to watch Puma Go!!)
A gaming revolution is coming, in which we will experience new levels of emotional genius play with...
THE BAD:
not all the songs can be done on multiplayer, and there's no sequel :'(
SUMMARY:
Gitaroo Man is one of the those games that when you tell someone about they go "...oh." It really is hard to explain and make it sound good. But I'll try my best. You really have to see it and play it to appreciate the greatness. It's along similar lines as Space Channel 5 and Parappa in that it's a rythem/music game. But it's a whole lot better than the two examples. You play the guitar along to your opponents tune and dodge they're "attacks". Seriously fun to play and the Master's Play is incredibley hard! As well as the single play mode there is a multiplayer for up to 4 players, adding to the fun.
THE BAD:
There will be no sequel. I almost want to cry.
SUMMARY:
Seriously, one of the top games ever made. EVER. It's a shame that this game didn't do as well as it could have, (advertising dollars not well spent). The origional soundtrack was done mostly by COIL, with the exception of "Flyin' to Your Heart" by Yuan, Tainted Lovers, Born to Be Bone, and Overpass. With the combination of a well-layed soundtrack, amazing graphics, great characters, compellings storyline and spectacular gameply, there's no reason you shouldn't pick this game up immediately.
THE BAD:
lack of replay value, length
SUMMARY:
I'm normally not one to get into games of this genre. I'm into survival-horror, and action rpgs, mainly, but this rhythm game really intranced me. The style in which the music is played from U-1's Gitaroo is innovative, far more unique and challenging than that PaRappa-crap.
Each level is characterized by a different genre of music, from spanish guitar accompanied by dancing skeletons on maracas to heavy metal played on a cathedral organ. The plot is just as captivating as the gameplay, and the characters are well-defined and cute (whether they're righteous, and devious). The graphics are rather unique as well. The charcters and scenery may be three-dimensional, but it all looks like it's out of a children's cartoon.
The multi-player mode is fun as well. IF you can find another...
