THE GOOD:
~Career Mode
~New First Touch Controls
~Off the Ball Control
~Create-A-Player
~Realistic Gameplay

THE BAD:
~Commentary Bugs
~Unchanged Graphics
~Players Looking Nothing Like Their Real Life Counterparts

SUMMARY:
Overall I really rate this game. It is a lot better than FIFA 2004 and I do mean a LOT. Every year Pro Evolution Soccer gets to brag about how much better it is than FIFA (and looking back to last year, you cant complain!) but this year I think this game is just as good, if not better than PES4. The gameplay is very realistic and very easy to get used to. The new first touch control fits into the game superbly and now you can beat your man with style. The new create-a-player mode is a very good part of the game allowing you to create your own player and slot him into which ever team takes your fancy. Plus the player is fully customisable; everything from their lip size to if they wear tape round their fingers or not. All of this added to the excellent graphics and updated transfers for the start of the 2004/2005 season makes it the best football game this year in my opinion. I would truely think about buying this game instead of Pro Evo this year folks.

THE GOOD:
  • Career mode
  • Catchy tunes
  • First touch
  • Licences

    THE BAD:

  • Commentary is tedious

    SUMMARY:
So FIFA 2004 was a let down, and people were saying that FIFA's reign as the best football game was over as Pro Evolution Soccer is getting better and better. But FIFA bites back at the media with FIFA 2005.

The Career Mode on FIFA 2004 wasn't too good and I think most people would agree with me on that. But the new reformed Career Mode on FIFA 2005 is a much better improvement. There is still some people saying Career Mode is useless and rubbish but I don't see how they can say that. Career Mode is now 15 seasons long and offeres a bigger choice of clubs to manage. You start of as a lower league team and you gradually make your way up to the top to manage the likes of Man Utd, Arsenal and Real Madrid. Each trophy you win throughout your career is saved and can be found in your trophy cabinet, your ultimate goal throughout the 15 seasons is to win as much trophys possible and to become a 5 star manager.

Like FIFA 2004 a new feature was added into the next FIFA game. This time EA Sports have added the First Touch feature. Now when your players collect the ball you can swivel in dirrection with a flick of the analouge stick. This is the perfect way to lose your defender, never before has it been so easy to throw your defender the wrong way.

But my most favourite new feature to FIFA 2005 is the ability to actually get past the defenders when attacking. You can now out run defenders and you actually have a chance of getting around the defender, so now Theirry Henry can out run the likes of Colin Cooper from Middlesbrough.

The graphics on FIFA 2005 are the same as ever, bright and realistic (unlike cartoony graphics on PES4) but this section of the review is to mainly talk about the songs. Like FIFA 2004 there is european songs from Germany and Italy to songs in Brazil. They are all very catchy and our the best set of songs I have seen on any FIFA game so far.

    Verdict

FIFA 2005 is a great game and is the best in the FIFA series yet, I hope EA keep on producing class games like this for many years to come.

    THE GOOD:
    First touch
    Off the ball (again!)
    Create-a-player
    Career Mode
    Create tournament

    THE BAD:
All football games go out of date

    SUMMARY:
Well the good are very good, this has the amazing ability to do tricks, off the ball and best yet CREATE A PLAYER. Although every single football game falls at the same hurdle. The players move to different clubs and this causes quite a problem, as sometimes you don't quite find out where the person went.

Well after a little dip in my veiw since 2000, it has come back bigger and better. 2001-2003 they didn't keep the style or the features that had made FIFA great, they lost create a player!!! Well in 2004, they had decided to experiment with Off the ball and freestyle, and they hadn't quite got the hang off it, and yet they didn't have CREATE A PLAYER!!! Well now the people at EA have grown up and realized what people want and we want CREATE A PLAYER, and guess what; we finally got it and we want it to stay!!!

Well as you can obviously see, I like the create a player, and who wouldn't, it's one of the best feature as well as career mode! Also the best modes is create a tournament which uncannily hasn't been used since 2000.

The Career mode is the best you start with a really bad team then at the end of each season according to how well you managed the team better teams will offer you jobs as managers of their clubs

    THE GOOD:
    -Exhibition
    -Career Mode
    -Tournament Mode
    -Off the Ball
    -First Touch
    -Create Player
    -Wales
    -Online
    -Graphics
    -Music
    -Stadiums
    -Practice

    THE BAD:
-No Referees (Until a foul is commited..)
    -Can't Save Replays

    SUMMARY:
I was trying to think of more than two things to say in "The Bad" box. But really I couldn't think of much. It's a fantastic game and certainly improved from FIFA 2004. At first I didn't really notice a difference, but after I played it for a while, I really thought it was much better. The First Touch option deserves most of the credit. This fantastic new feature (R1) is amazing, and usually benefits the attacker in one-on-one situations. You'll have great bouncebackability once you've learnt how to use each trick properly. It can be a great advantage when you play online, because no matter how good your opponent is, every player needs a good first touch. Speaking of the online, it's much better now. You can connect nearly every time, where as in FIFA 2004 you had to pray it would connect with the other users, it was that bad. But there's a few rooms which you can go into, and challenge a player. You have a profile as well, displaying your W-L-D record and your rank. It's superb. Exhibitions had to go into the good column, because it's neccesary to have them if you want to accomplish a great football game. The settings are better as well, easy to use.

Career Mode is fantastic, and I was surprised when I first noticed it was around ten years or so long. That's a huge career, so you'll continue to play for a long time. The replay value is immense, once you play one game, you can help but play another. It's got nearly every tournament in it as well, for the tournament mode. Which is a huge bonus, as sometimes you want a break from the season. You can also create your own tournament, and although I usually don't like doing this, I must admit it's a decent feature.

Off The Ball has returned, and is exactly the same. I'm not a huge fan, but it deserved to be included here somewhere, as it can be a key move to win a match. Once you've mastered it, you'll be scoring goals left, right and center. Creating a Player is cool as well. You have twenty four templates to choose from, and you can toggle through different stages of the eyes, eyebrows and other features. You give him the attributes as well, which go up in stages of five. Wales are finally in this. I didn't mention this because I support them, because I don't. But throughout the previous FIFA titles, Wales have been excluded. Glad to see them in this edition.

The graphics are once again top-notch, and there are a lot of songs to keep you entertained while at the main menu, or if you've paused the game. You can also move through the tracks by holding down R1. There are a lot of new stadiums as well, and they look superb. The practice is easy to use as well, and you can select which set-peice you want to perfect, or have an open game. Unfortunately, there aren't any referees running around while you play. But once a foul is conceded, you'll notice him. You can't save the replays either, which I've been looking forward to since they took it out. Overall it's a great game though, and although some Pro Evolution Soccer fans may disagree, take my word for it.

    THE BAD:
everything alright.there not really much to say the game is amazing.so there is nothing really bad to say about it............

    SUMMARY:
all the players you want create a player and team, graphics are better confrence teams and better detailed players.all the updated home and away kits to the last detail i really like the ball control, the players looked realistic, the keepers made brialliant save and just dont dive at every shot the penalty shootouts are good with the sound because te crowd make sound to distract players you have to get the ball on the right mark to get wright speed and power
