THE GOOD:
A lot of characters, great improvement upon previous edition!

THE BAD:
Gets Repetitive, very repetitive...

SUMMARY:
The first of the Ps2 and it dawn a new saga that made many find interest on the book by Luo Guangzhong.

It tells the story of a great saga set in early ad, in fuedal china, 3 great armies wanted control, only 1 can succseeded, and this game gives you an array of characters for your use, with a range of weapons and unique attacks.

The levels get increasingly harder as more and more the enemy will press down on you forces, and if your not careful, leaving it down to you!

There is also a unique character progression too, which leads to you to have the urge to max all of them, before you even think about getting rid of this game!

All in all, two thumbs up for the almighty game!

PS2  Fairly Unique For The Time 3.9

THE GOOD:
At the time it was really a unique game
More characters than the first Dynasty Warriors for PSX
Kick-ass bodyguards!

THE BAD:
Several characters have the same attacks
For those not interested in this series that much hacking and slashing will get boring
After playing the sequels this one seems very basic

SUMMARY:
I bought Dynasty Warriors 2 because I had the first one and quite liked it. Despite the fact Dynasty Warriors 1 was a Street Fighter-type game and this wasn't, I still bought it because it looked different to everything else on the market at the time.

I was glad to see that all the characters from DW1 were in this game, and then some. The most powerful character, Lu Bu, is only on one map in this game, but he proves very tough to beat considering it's only on the second map. A lot of people run past him and come back to him when their character is more powerful.

Your character levels up by killing enemy generals (who will have names above their heads) and gate captains. They will drop either a sword or a sheild which will raise your attack or defense respectively. As the levels go on and the difficulty goes up, the power of these items increases. To raise your health and musou attack (special attack) bar you have to find Dim Sums hidden in crates. You can do up to a combination of 4 attacks in a row using the square button, or you can press triangle at the end of a combo to do a more powerful charge move. When you fill up your musou bar by hitting other people you can do your musou attack which is a much more powerful attack and you cannot be damaged by anyone while performing this attack.

One of the best things about this game compared to the others in the series is the bodyguards. In this game your bodguards are attached to the character and level up in power as your character levels up. When they become their most powerful they are capable of holding even the most powerful generals at bay for a period of time. In my opinion this is the best thing about the game.

Another positive is that this game is largely based on the events of the Romance of The Three Kingdomes which took place from about 180AD to 234AD in China and the battles and rivalries would have been real. Of course some things have been fabricated to enhance the storyline, but nevertheless you are learning about this time peroid while playing.

The downsides to this game are that it is fairly basic once you play a sequel, and several of the characters have exactly the same attacks. Also after playing a sequel where there are more playable characters and you come back to this game, it's a bit odd to see them as generic officers.

Also, the biggest criticism (but the only real one) is that hacking and slashing can get boring after a while and there's no real incentive to play on with a character. Yes, this might be true, but only really of this game. The sequels attempt to fix this. So if the only thing you can find to criticise about this game is the repetitveness, then I'd say you should buy one of the later ones as well.

But having said that, if you manage to find this game very cheaply you really ought to get it, you never know, you might like it. I'd recommend Dynasty Warriors 3 if you can find that cheaply, but for a few pounds or dollars this won't be a bad buy.

THE GOOD:
There are Gigantic battle fields with literaly 1000 combatants on the field at the one time. The controls are very simple and easy to master.

THE BAD:
Enemies just appear from nowhere to ambush you. The gameplay needs a bit of tuning and work.

SUMMARY:
This is one for the button mashers who like to kill things. This game reminds me a lot of 7 Blades. The gameplay needs some work so it varies from the hack and slash repetitiveness. Still deep gamers will find it interesting, but should opt for one of the newer versions such as DW4. This game needed work, but was okay considering the way PS2 is these days. But there is not enough complexity & the hack and slash gets boring, tiring and repetitive. But still, I enjoyed playing this installment of the Dynasty warriors series. A good game.

THE GOOD:
This game was the first game that I played on my playstation 2.

THE BAD:
Bad is that there is a real need of more warriors.

SUMMARY:
This game was the first game I played when I got my playstation 2, even though I first played this game on a Playstation 2 Demo it's graphics where the best I had seen at that time.I still go back to the game to try and keep getting better at it, even though that that isn't possible.

Dynasty Warriors is a maginicant upgrade from its orginal game.

The game has you control an army of chinks against some other sometimes magicial chinks as you fight epic wars in various landscapes across ancient lands.

This game is okay for the first 3 wars, but then the levels drag on and on, and becomes very boring and repetitive, sometimes you can win very cheaply.

This game is not the greatest but a decent rentle title to say the least

THE GOOD:
this game has awesome graphics and good battles. they arent too short and they arent too long. just right.

THE BAD:
some of the characters really suck, but that is why you can be more than one right?

SUMMARY:
this game has it all for a fighting game. the graphics and the moves that you think about on a japanese war game. it makes it look like how someone would think it should.

THE GOOD:
Well, the graphics rule and you will never stp playing it.

THE BAD:
Well, the fact that you can't kill your own soldiers.

SUMMARY:
Right, Lets get down to work.
A couple of days ago, when i was sitting in my chair watching Game Network's chart show, i spotted that at the first position of the japenese chart was Dynasty Warriors 3.
I was intriged to see what it was, because it wasnumber one, but then i heard that it would not be out in the UK till 2002, (DAMN).
A couple of days later, i went on my friends demo disk he found in his cupboard and found a demo of Dynasty Warriors 2, i played and played till i was bored of the demo, it was a truely awesme gaming experience.
I have decided that i will buy Dynasty Warriors 2 for PS2, as i think itis brilliant, but i am still intrigued to see what number 3 is like, so if you know anything, please contact me.
I kno this is a bit long, but now i'm finished.

PS2  How to get L u Bu 5.0

THE GOOD:
You can get Lu BU

THE BAD:
Its Hard to do.

SUMMARY:
In order to get Lu BU you have to defeat 1000 people in the taking of Hu Luo gate, on either medium or hard diffuculty. I suggest doing this in the free mode. And i suggest being someone from the Shu Dynasty like Zang Fei,Guan Yu or Zhou yun, and puting them with any other dynasty because it makes the shu move like mollases. And if the shu get through then they will defeat all the enimies also never beat the gate captains because people will stop coming out.
