THE GOOD: Totally new gameplay Every officer is playable Ability to recruit officers
THE BAD: Second expansion pack for a game that wasn't that great to start off with
SUMMARY: DW4:Empires is a game that many waited for, it added new elements of strategy instead of just the usual mindless hacking and slashing. This is what many had been waiting to see for a long time, but for me something about it just wasn't right. Maybe it was the fact that DW4 was worse than DW3 in my eyes, maybe it was the fact that this was the second expansion pack for a sub-par game. In any event, I don't really class this in my top DW games, in fact it goes at the bottom of the pile.
The entire battle system was reworked and instead of just killing the boss, you need to seal gates and prevent your home base from being taken over. There's still a heck of a lot of hacking and slashing to do, so don't think that fundamental part of the game has vanished, just now there's more to it.
THE GOOD: - Strategy involved - New Gameplay - Upgraded Create officer - New mini games - Availability to use historical officer, eg. Ma Teng - AI smarter - Fun cheeky rock music XD - Cheap
THE BAD: - No new officers - Model's for historical officers are lame(At default) - Saving could be a hassle - New battle feature may not be as appealing to others - Voice overs for some officer are horrible,eg, Zhu Rong and Lubu. Lubu doesnt sound as scary as he use too and Zhu Rong..she just doesnt sound like "Zhu Rong" - Only one player in Empire mode
SUMMARY: With it's new battle system, it makes a whole new exprience for all players both new and domestic fans. The strategy implemented in this game will get fans hooked up even more than before.
Despite some graphic changes, it still looks pretty much the same though having a tweak or two in the games graphics would makes things better. Furthermore, you will be able to use other historical officers when you are bored with the intial ones..eve though the histo...
THE GOOD: I say everything was awesome the graphics were great, the charcters were the best, the items, weapons and how they made the game was just awesome. I like how you could make your own character when I made mine I didn't lose with him I won every match. The levels and how to get new officiers and other things was great.
THE BAD: Are you kidding? I found nothing to be wrong with this game it was the best.
SUMMARY: I think this was one of my favorite games of 2004 and it still amazes me whenever I get a chance to play it. Like what they added was just awesome.
Overall i give it 5 out of 5 since it's simply the best game out there as of right now. When the new one comes out let's see what happens if it's better or not as great as this one.
My favorite was when i beat the game against meng hou he almost had me but I just got him at the end.
THE GOOD: New gameplay that is totally different from DW4 and DW4 XL- Capture strongholds and take out the enemy's main camp! Use skills on the battlefield! Use proposals to resupply troops, hire officers, begin production of items, ect.! Play the Historical Mode, or make things up in fictional mode! 3 levels of play as well! Vs. Mode- Play the CPU or a friend! New Create a Warrior system- Choose the type, the looks, the voice, the weapon, the type, and the skill! Ability to play as those generic officers, such as Hua Xiong and Jia Xu! Bonus Unlockable artwork and more!
THE BAD: Some voices have changed for the worse since DW4 XL, including Jiang Wei, Zhang He, and Zhu Rong CAW mode only lets you input 8 letters for a name Not a whole lot of historical battles
SUMMARY: I've had this game for a few months now, and I still play it to the fullest. The battles are different every time, and there are so many things to unlock, too! Create a Warrior mode has been completely redone- more models, voices...
THE GOOD: Your able to use strategy in the game, the editing officer mode is alot better, being able to conquer China.
THE BAD: No New characters
SUMMARY: This was actually one of the best DW games that they have..I really like how it has a purpose..your not just going around and hacking through armies...Well i mean you still are, but you are tring to take over the areas. You gain items from a certain area, the battles actually are fun...There are points where you have to kill all the enemies in the region to be able to gain their base. The fact that you get to create a cool looking character and use it battle as a general for your army...I kust wish they would of made more areas you can take over...Sometimes the regular map is to small and you can take it in no time... YAt first i thought you could only use your character as the main general, until I found out you can just set one of the captured Generals as your 1 player then you will be able to use them. Or dont do a historical battle...
The game will lag occasionally when many soldiers are on the screen at once.
SUMMARY: The gameplay in Dynasty Warriors 4: Empires is the same basic stuff Koei has always had. You run around ancient China and kill thousands of soldiers.
The only noteable difference in gameplay is the duels. They are now harder, and what health you lose during the duel is lost outside of the duel also. So if the duel ends in a draw and you escape with a tiny amount of health left, that's all the health you carry over to the battlefield. Other than that, the gameplay is the same. Now, onto the real stuff...
Koei did a good job with Empire Mode. Your goal is to defeat all your enemies and take over China, but this time, all the decisions are yours! You decide where to attack, which of your generals and lieutenants you will use, what to do with captured o...
THE GOOD: Enhanced Strategy Aspects Each Warrior has 1/11 Newly Introduced Skills Capability to Capture Opposing Forces Officers Train your Army in your own Unique Way Your Officers now offer there advice through Proposals Coalition Scenarios Unique new Growth System New Edit Character System - Includes Voice Changer - Includes New Costume Modifier - Includes Skill Changer - Includes Moveset Modifier 150+ Playable Characters Historical/Fictional Mode and 3 Difficulty Settings and Much, Much More! Three High Ranking Options - Commander/General/Strategist
THE BAD: Still the Same Major Characters, No New Major Additions Quite obviously, if you don't like Strategy and Action - Wrong Game
SUMMARY: If you are into Strategy, loosen your Purse Strings or Pull out your Wallet and go out and buy this game.
If you like the option of slaying thousands of warriors, and even continually slaying the same, re-appearing officers over and over again well, do the same as above.
