This is the best disaster genre game I've ever seen. The other disaster games are few and far between. Most of them are in Japan, probably, so I haven't seen most of them. Playing against the elements is the only enemy you have here, besides a couple of gun-toting goons, thirst, and a few explosions from a missle (the goons' 'copter has a missle launcher). The difficulty is the same on both settings, though the thirst gauge is lower on Hard. The photo album is not much, but it is a nice present for the end of the game. Gotta play more than once to unlock all the pictures. Also, if you stick through the game, the plot unfolds very well at the end. The scene with Terry is much better with Karen than Kelly, by the way. It makes you feel more for Karen. If you have Kelly, then he's just shot, that's it. Greg is an invaluable asset, but doesn't help out much. You've got to try to help out everyone, but when you split, go by yourself (ex: Karen or Windrunner? Go with Windrunner; you'll save Kelly's life). But, if you have a choice between Karen or Kelly, go with Karen. (This is sounding like a strategy, so I'll stop). Just keep focused; you can get through this way faster that way.

This is a cool game and orignal idea. I can't find a single flaw and is not hard but not too easy either. When you play its always unexpected gameplay. The fun factor is high since this is the first game of its kind to do something like this. It also has 7 diffrent endings and 2 paths for every ending. even in one part you build a raft to travel down a canal! I dont want to give too much away since this game is so fun! In fact i played this game today for 2 hours and i had already beaten it 4 TIMES! this is an addicting survival game that is realistic in two ways: 1 you have to constantly keep your water gauge full and 2 your always using teamwork to survive. This is such a good game i could play for HOYRS. it has a good graphics engine and story. You'll find out when you play this wonderful game. The sound is good and loud enough to hear it great. The value goes much further than the $20 price. The may be a few months old and originaly from japan, but is by far one of the best games you'll play. Pick it up and enjoy this great, original game TODAY!

THE GOOD:
Immersive Story, large areas to explore, varied gameplay, Real sense of danger and impending doom. The sound design is great!

THE BAD:
Needs a bit of graphical tweak. Better water/lighting effects. Character movement should be sharper.

SUMMARY:
I'm guessing this was an experiment in it's native Japan - perhaps thrown together without too much thought on who would buy it/play it. The game itself plays very well, it's just a bit on the rough side. Although - a new genre is born. The 'Disaster' game, maybe something of extreme polish will emerge over the next couple of years.
