SUMMARY: I was excited about this game, in fact really excited. After finishing DMC1 for the 5th time i couldn't wait for more hack and slash action. Yet after 10 minutes of placing DMC2 in the PS2 i quickly realized that I've bought a stinker. That's hard for me to say cos I love the franchise but it's true.
In fairness though DMC2 has better graphics, more moves and 3 playable characters, but it lacks in all other aspects.
Enemies die before they get a chance to attack you because they are so slow and sluggish, background seems bland and lacks the gorgeous back drops a la DMC1 and Dante lost his sense of humour.
All in all though it isn't a terrible game, it has got it's good moments. The building that turns into a boss and the final...
THE GOOD: more swords...thats it really. Some of the bosses such as the building demon and the last level boss. It did pose a challenge compared to DMC1.
THE BAD: Its boring and the game feels like a chore. The background is boring and some parts of the game you dreaded to play.
SUMMARY: very disappointing sequel to the ultimate Devil May Cry game. It needed a little edge to it. The only thing that was worth looking forward to was the last level where it should of started. The ultimate fight with the fire devil himself. The background may have been dark but it was boring. It did try to make an effort though with the building coming to life. What it also didn't have is the actual character of Dante who was a cocky guy which suited, but in DMC2 it had the strong and silent type which was a bad choice as it deprived the game of humor.
THE GOOD: Good Soundtracks, Good Graphics, Like the fact u can play as 3 characters (Dante, Lucia, Trish), Good new monsters, Amulet equipping, New Devil Trigger Type, New Weapons.
THE BAD: Lack of storyline, The Alastor Sword and the Ifrit Gauntlets and The Sparda Sword are not on the game, Some enemies too easy to kill, Not enough puzzles, Dante's voice changed, Game too short.
SUMMARY: I like that they have made the DMC2 game better graphics and i like that they've put new monsters in them, Its good that u can play as Dante, Lucia and Trish, but there really are only a few bosses that are hard to kill. The storyline isnt really as good as DMC1's storyline. It should of been something like the main character is Dante's son and he has to go after Mundus, or something like that. What spoils it is that they dont really have a main boss at the end of the game if you know wot i mean. Its only 'Despair Embodied' well i gotta admit the Despair...

SUMMARY: This game is alright. Just not as good as I had hoped.The enemies and bosses were so easy that it was embarassing. There were no more smart-ass comments in this sequel.
This game comes with two discs. One being the hard-as-nails Dante, and the other, Lucia. Both modes were easy. Even your own mother could beat the entire game without breaking a sweat.
This game isn't all bad though. The monsters don't look too bad, and the weapons look cool. The controls are great, they don't stuff up when you're in the middle of something.
Overall, I think this game's pretty good. I only recommend it to those that are fans of Action games though.

Dante is back!.....but he's not the same. DMC2 has all the gameplay mechanics as the original BUT, it is much , much , much easier and alot less fun....and less challenging. THE GOOD: First off Capcom has the whole real time fighting thing down, the controls are amazing. Daunte is so badass, and the devil trigger is better than ever with a bunch of upgrades for it. Once you beat the game with Daunte you can play as Lucia.
THE BAD: I only gave it a 4 because I thought it basically had the same plot as devil may cry.

SUMMARY: This is a VERY good game outright, but is strongly let down by its storyline which is by far the weakest aspect of the game. SUMMARY: Absolute disgrace to the devil may cry owner. One of the main reasons I like devil may cry is cause dante as a badass wit smartass comments.
