Def Jam Vendetta

THE BAD:
too much countering, no deep story line. obligatory and sucky girly matches in story mode, bad language

SUMMARY:
lets see... youve got some rap artists, girls, wierdos and a few misfits and thats it? yes thats what def jam vendeta is all about. The game is supposively a wrestling game but lacks grapples and moves. The action is pretty fast for a wrestling game, that is. And the characters look over muscled and cartoony (like in the other ea big titles). You might expect to see ludacris or method man in therebut its not all that great. But it adds to the character pool. The ingame rap tracks are short, loop quickly and get annoying very quickly. Another thing that annoys is the use of proffane language. I mean, why must the use bad words in a wrestling game? I mean come on! it should just be big guys bashin each other around in a street brawlin arena!...

THE BAD:
story is same with all fighters, taunts and winning cinemas quickly get old,

SUMMARY:
Def Jam Vendetta is a great game to rap fans and wrestling fans. With a great cast of characters, unique story, and creative arenas, it has fun seeping out of it. However, problems like repetivity hold it back. The music is great, with classic beats and fresh new rhymes. The animations are seamlessly blended together to make the most realestic wrestling game ever, although it has a wonderful feel of fantasy, such as the over-the-top, outrageous moves. In conclusion, Def Jam Vendetta is a great game, despite a few flaws, for any rap fan or wrestling fan. :-)

THE BAD:
More could have been added.

More in-depth things to the storyline should have been included.

SUMMARY:
The game is mainly just another wrestling game but it is cool as the characters are rappers. Ludacris, my favorite rapper, is in it. Method Man, DMX and many others I cant think of are in the game as well. The storyline is pretty much you are just fighting your way to the top to take out D Mobb because you or your friend owe him money or something, I really didnt pay attention to the storyline.

The game is pretty much only the fighting aspect even though you can do more than just the storyline. You can fight one guy after another to earn points or money to raise your health stats for the storyline. You can earn pictures of women in your photo...

THE BAD:

SUMMARY:
These are a list of things wrong with this game that made it absolutly no fun to play beyond the first hour

1) No character creation system. I guess this doesnt bother most people but to me the ability to design your own character is one of the greatest innovations in gaming history as it adds such a personalised element to everything you do.

2)Piss poor music. Its not even the full songs, just the intolerable , usually monotone/repetative backtrack. If I have to listen to thise for another minute Ill gouge my ears out with a waffle iron (it can be done, just use your imagination)

3) Dull and formulaic. Basically for some reason all the CPU controlled enamies are ridiculously hard and reverse everything, which leads to the only way to effectively fight them...

THE BAD:
No mellee weapons, only single and tag team matches, short story, and tag team matches!

SUMMARY:
Overall it's an allright game! I wouldnt buy it though. It's worth a rent alright! If you've played other wrestling games like "Shut Your Mouth" you might be dissapointed because this game doesnt have features that SYM has. It's also a short game. Some matches will be a real bitch to beat. And tag team matches are annoying. You start off story mode with 4 characters to choose from,I would suggest briggs. You then follow the storyline in which you begin a rivalry with D-mob all the way until the end when you have to face him! You also take the role of a women and catfight! It's a fight to see who will Briggs Girl Friend be (I think that's right?)

THE BAD:
-there are small but REALLY REALLY ANNOYING THINGS for example when you just do you special move and go for the pin and he gets a rope break.
-2 on 2 is also annoying since the partner always comes in and interfeers. You have to tk them and it takes like 15 minutes to do so.
-you can't listen to the good music in fight
-some matches are incredibly easy and some are just impossible like a 3 v 1 fight.
-too short, i beat it when i rented it

SUMMARY:
I guess you could rent this game as I did but do NOT BUY IT. It is boring after a while and some aspects of them game just piss you off and make you shut your ps2 off. THe graphics are the only thing that save the game. You can hear your favorite def jam artists trash talk!

THE BAD:
No Blood, No Weapons, Not Enough Styles of Matches, ie. Hardcore, Cage etc.

SUMMARY:
This game is gr8 for all u die hard fighting fans, for everyone else it will keep u amused, i enjoyed it, i thought the specials were gr8 and the game. it may have lastability depending on how often u play it in a day, i've played it loads and still enjoying it, if only it had some little extras it would b better than the smackdown series which is getting really cheesy and really quite lame, the career mode on DJV is good but too short. U can either buy this game where u can have a good laff especially in multiplayer or settle for the ultimate cheese known as official wwe smackdown oh and that pile of shite legends of wrestling. In my opinion i say buy Def Jam!!!

THE BAD:
Needs gimmick matches (hardcore, TLC, etc), doesn't have Create-a-Wrestler and other items other wrestling games have, short story.

SUMMARY:
This game is awesome for those who have played No Mercy and other N64 games AKI has designed and can bring back memories for veterans of AKI games like myself.

This game plays a lot like the N64 AKI games and the graphics are really crisp and it emphisizes moves so you will never look at a suplex the same way again.

However, THIS GAME NEEDS GIMMICK MATCHES! It doesn't have them! Plus, no weapons, no Create a Wrestler, no add-ons that other games have.

The soundtrack features many great songs that are on the Def Jam label such as X Gon Give It To Ya. If you are a fan of rap you'll love the soundtrack.

This game is good to rent if you don't...

THE BAD:
The game is too short. There is only one part in the game thats really hard and it takes a while to pass it.

SUMMARY:
The game is preatty good. The graphics are good too. There are 44 characters in the game. 5 of them are chicks and they have a picture gallary. The game features DMX, Ludacris, Method Man, Redman, N.O.R.E., Scarface, WC, Funkmaster Flex, Capone, Joe Budden, Ghostface Killah, Keith Merray and others. There are also 12 cool levels to choose from. There are tons of moves and every character has 2 specials. This game is worth buying.

THE BAD:
won't run on my PS2

SUMMARY:
I bought this along with another game and couldn't WAIT to get home and try it out. I put Def Jam in my PS2 first and wanted to checkout the intro for the game. Well after watchin and getting hyped about kickin Redman's ass, I try to play the game. I tried to hit the START BUTTON, and nothing happens. I reboot the PS2 and try around 5 more times. I start to get parinoid and put some of my other games in there just to make sure it's workin right. I have no problem playin my other 40+ games on my system. I took it back and swapped it out for ANOTHER copy. Still havin the same problem. I can't take the sorry ass game back becuz it was opened, and now I'm stuck with a coster for my soda. Needless to say I'm pissed
