THE BAD:
Gets kind of boring at times
SUMMARY:
Dark Cloud is a good game, and somewhat nostalgic. If you've spent countless hours playing Sim City on PC or Actraiser on the SNES, you'll have an idea of the twist this game adds to the usual dungeon crawling hack n slash formula. I have to say that without the twist, the game wouldn't be as good as it is.
It plays like your usual hack n slash, yeah. Basically what you do, is that you explore dungeons, hacking at enemies and getting all the treasures. Your typical dungeon crawler, though there are some differences.
Your treasures aren't just items and gold, you also have to collect these things called Atla. According to the story of the game, this thing called the Dark Genie destroyed the world and all the towns are...
THE BAD:
-The Unclear Ways Of How People Want To Live To Get 100% On Each Town
-Frequent Weapon Breaking
-Thirst Meter Going Down Too Fast
SUMMARY:
This game is a very good one for the PS2. Most RPGer's should like Dark Cloud. This game also attracts attention from the Sim population due to the need to restore towns in your own fashion which counts for 1.5 of my total score. Also said above the storyline is very well done. It is quite in depth and requires thinking and strategy to complete and adds another 2 of 5 points. Also, except for a few places, the graphics are well put out which allows the gain of 1 point. The music in the game basically goes also with the environment adding another 0.5 of a point. On the down side, this game is unclear in some areas. For example, a man wants to be close to his friends house and gives you the...
THE BAD:
weapons breaking got annoying, some of the dungeons bored the living hell out of me, some other in-game tasks were a bit tedious
SUMMARY:
One of my first RPG games that I've ever owned on PS2. First of all, I thought it was a decent game. Most of it was easy to follow and the dungeons at the beginning of the game were quite easy and gave you a good feel for the game itself. But as the game progressed and a few broken weapons later, I kinda got a bit bored with it.. I mean, it was a solid game and everything, its just that some parts of it got a bit boring. Other than that, its a pretty cool game with lots of redeeming qualities, such as its battle system for one. Characters were also pretty cool as well.
I would recommend it to most RPG players, but not all of them. For those who stick to FF games, then I doubt that...
THE BAD:
Its to hard And you need internet or else you will get in trouble. The guy that runs the place makes no sense at all.[If you know what he talks about.Thats nuts man/woman]
SUMMARY:
This game is so good I would burn down the School to get a copy. This shows all the good of a RPG.But you need help at the part where you have to hit the rock with wind.I want every one in the world to have this game.Just make sure That you have internet or you Know some one that does.If you say this game stinks I will glue you to the wall, and you don't that to happen. This game kicks but.Oh yeah FF sucks.
THE BAD:
coulda improved graphics
SUMMARY:
MY FIRST PS2 GAME EVER!! When i first got this game I enjoyed it so much! i was blown away by the way it worked and found myself spending countless hours just beatin the crud outta monsters and playing it. It was amazing...one of the best...(otherwise i wouldnt waste time doing a review, unless its horrible)I really liked the storyline. The bosses were some-what difficult but were always possible to beat. The final boss took meh a few tries but i got there! I didnt waste time with that 100 floor place...(whatever its called) I beat the boss...thats all that mattered to meh. After the boss the game sorta got boring cause i was done. i would say it has no replay value really...(hence 4.7) Definitely worth the 20 bucks tho!

SUMMARY:
I love this game! It has the combat style of a Legend of Zelda game(Also a favorite)and you can rebuild the village in any way you desire! There are six player charadters that have unique abilities. What else could you want in a game.
There is only one thing in Dark Cloud that I don't like...as you use weapons they weaken. If you dont repair them the weapon could break and you would lose it.
THE BAD:
You have to keep going back to each village for supplies, unless you wnat to use a lot of money spending on food for stock.
SUMMARY:
This game is good for begginer kind of RPG gamers.
Fishing is one of the good and kind of fun things in this game, although it is a bit hard.Allies are a need in this game even thoughu seem to get carried away with Toan.I advise you to get a guide for this game because it's quite easy to use an item you need.My friend hired out this game and got stuck because he lost an item. The Georama making is fun for me,deciding where everything should go is just cool!
Duelling is new to me and realy fun but easy, well hey what are you going to do!
THE BAD:
The game is very repetitive. Each dungeon level, you find the parts for the village, and kill the monsters so you can get to the next floor. It just continues on and on like this. The game seems to be too much of a Zelda wannabe title. The bosses are far too easy, and the game all in all isn't very challenging.
SUMMARY:
In my opinion, the game isn't worth buying. Rent it from the video game place if you wish, but you may get tired of it soon. I'm not sure how it became one of PS2's greatest hits. Of course you may feel differently about it than I do, so go try it! ^__^

SUMMARY:
The story is cute, but kinda bizarre, especially when you see the old guy thats supposed to help you out. (What kind of Fairy King is he) Some things also don't make sense, like why did Toan's whole town dissappear but not the mayor? Also, the dungeons suck ass as well as some of the enemies. Starting out wasn't that great either since you start with 70 health, and some of the bad guys there already do 30 damage a hit, so it gets really aggravating. Seriously though, if I wanted to enjoy a really good dungeon/adventure game I'd just play Legend of Zelda again. By the way, Toan does look a bit like Zelda, and the controls are similar.... hmmmmm. But since Level 5 did make Dark Cloud 2, I'm ready for forgive them ^ ^. Oh yea, and if you guys just read this and have the incredible urge to...
