All-Star Baseball 2003

THE GOOD:
The graphics are decent, but too many glitches, and too many field errors hurt this game in big ways. Sound is great, and really the only promising factor.

THE BAD:
Mainly everything else. Pitchers can't last that long, and the season mode, along with the trades are absolutely awful.

SUMMARY:
I had this game for only two weeks, and I regret even getting it as a bargain. This game, even though a little improved from 2002's version, still is a game that if you have, keep on the shelf, otherwise sell it immediately. Good Commentery, though. The only real strong point of this. I warn you that only absolute hardcore baseball fans would even think about renting this. Replay Value is promising, but the ball seems to dissapear too many times while trying to catch it. Graphics, though, is somewhat of a plus. SUMMARY:
This game is perfection in every way. Everything in this game was good, I really liked the controls for this game the best, the controls were better since this game is for the PS2. I would recommend this game to anybody who likes baseball or other classic sports or games like it.

THE GOOD:
Commentary is X-cellent, batting is refined, fielding assist works decently.

THE BAD:
Still lacking in BIg ways, annoying pitching rotation, HOME-RUN-HAPPY Batters.

SUMMARY:
All Star Baseball in an attempt to redeem itself came out with 2003. I bought the first one and then burnt it at the stake. ONce again i bought this "New Version" in hopes of find a baseball game as fun as Ken Griffey Jr. on the N64. When will developers realize graphics do not make a game. Fielding is as bad as ever, and often a Fielder a freakin 10 feet away will magicaly catch the ball. Manual fielding is also IMPOSSIBLE and not fun. Warming up pitchers sucks. Batting is really too hard as you will strike out A-LOT. The pitches are so fast, you will find your self not swinging just in hopes it wont be a strike. SUMMARY:
Alright,I was sucker enough to buy this crummy game.
First of all,the ball and be hit up mid field and
the OF will be along way from it and still scoop
up the ball.

Second,I will be in expansion mode and make a trade
and even when I set my lineup when I go to the game
it will Rey Sanchez playing LF and Gary Sheffield
on the bench.

Third,The pitcher wears out too fast.Randy Johnson
shouldn't be sucking wind by the 3rd and 4th inning.
And last but not least,it's impossible to pitch well
on this game.You always give up HR's.

This game is a huge embarassing failure and I am
embarassed I actually paid money for this crap.

THE GOOD:
First off, acclaim has added a new franchise mode that continues for 20 seasons, the best part is that your players abilities change at the end of the season. So a B+ can go to an A- within one season. If you win the championship each year, you can have an allstarcaliber team. The batting has improved greatly making it fun yet real. Don't expect to hit a 98mph pitch during the 1st inning. Included now are injuries that happen on and deliberatley.
Barry Bonds up to bat and you don't want to see him again. . . throw a slider into his ankle and watch him drop. Adding to that, pitchers can now be ejected, so no more mad frenzies on the mound. A new T.V presentation livens up the game. AND THE COMMENTARY IS GREAT

THE BAD:
COLLISION Detection. You will seeing a flyball caught 10 feet away from a guy, but its not as bad as it sounds and many times you'll be thankful when your'e the one making that...

Everything, graphics, sound and everything else a gamer wants.

Collision problems...nuff said.

SUMMARY:
All aspects great other than collision problems when catching the ball ect. Or when it is hit in the outfield and the kneel to get it, they will be about five feet away. Home Runs are cool but shouldn't have the home run sequence when you know it is gone -- ONLY SOMETIMES -- others you should have to feel like it is gone, not automatically.
