BackgroundArmored Core 2 puts in the you in the seat of highly-customizable mechs. Like in previous games in the series, you can arm your mechs with rifles, bazookas, beam-cannons, blade-launchers, mine-droppers, missile decoys, and many other new weapons. Single player games consist of mercenary missions you undertake to earn credits for upgrades, and of course you can take on a friend's AC unit in head-to-head combat.
GameplayPlayers pilot mech-based 'armored core' units, each equipped with its own weapons, boosters, generator, and exoskeleton. Characters pilot the 'AC' through different missions using multiple weapon types such as shotguns, machine guns, and laser rifles.
- All new arena including 50 regular combatants, and extras who fill in for those killed in missions.
- New parts list including all new weapons and other Core parts, all with graphical facelifts.
- New missions.
- All new weapon varieties.
