Arc The Lad: Twilight Of The Spirits

THE GOOD:
Most everything (if not everything)~great graphics, decent battle system, loved the characters, storyline was awesome.

THE BAD:
I didnt think the spiritstone system was all too bad...

SUMMARY:
All in all, its one of those rare games you find that are so amazing.(IMO) Graphics are sweet, the characters just plain out rock! (especially Darc!!) The storyline was one of the best ive had in awhile... I truthfully didnt think much of the spiritstone system. IMO it was actually pretty unique and added an extra challenge to the game. I personally trained my characters at the arena (DEIMOS MORE SO). My Darc got to be in middle of game basically immortal. Atks from super monsters did...1! Then he would slaughter them with AIR BLADE! His skills were sweet...if you didnt notice i thought darc was we cooler than his bro Kharg...that idiot...tore off his own wings....(what a loser)! I like how they pitted the brothers...

When I first heard of Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, I thought to myself, ''Hoorah! Another Arc the Lad, and on the PS2, at that.'' Then, I realized something. This game was produced by a completely different company. Although still published by SCEA, the producing company was Cattle Call. I said to myself, ''Hell no! I aint buying that peice crap.'' So I rented it, still being a fan of the series. I was so amazed by it, I bought it. After playing through the first time I decided to submit this review.

Story

This is the reason I love this series. Although they are always so similar the storylines are always great. In this Arc game you alternate between the two Half-Deimos, Half-Human brothers Kharg and Darc. Some of you may be asking ''Deimos? WTF?''. According to the game the Deimos evolved from monsters and posed a threat to humans (Who created monsters BTW) so the humans shunned them away and every continent on the planet was split between Deimos and...

THE GOOD:
graphics, storyline,battle system

THE BAD:
those blasted spirit stones,weapons, limited items to carry, a couple of the characters.

SUMMARY:
thinking i was getting an arc the lad 4(i have the collection) i couldn't wait to get my hands on this. however, apart from some vague references to some of the characters and the fact that it's set in the same world with the same place names(e.g nidellia) this is a completely different game and apparently unconnected.<br><br>on the plus side this game has great graphics, the characters are easy to control and the storyline had me reaching for my hankie(in some parts). all a huge plus to me who's always a lover of a good yarn(suikoden 2 being one of my all time favourites) and you can run around at will from one place to another to build yourself up or to get some much needed wedge for those spirit stones(gahhh). THE GOOD:
Battle System. Set up is unique, and interesting. The story is one of the better ones I've seen.

THE BAD:
Music is too weird for my tastes. Dialogue is annoying. Game can be a bit predictable. Battle system offers too much freedom of movement. I can't tell when I'm fighting a boss.......And, enemies provide barely any challenges.

SUMMARY:
If you decide not to get Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, you won't be missing out on to much so don't worry. An enjoyable RPG, bu not a hands on kinda game. This game is really more suitable for hardcore RPG fans like me. So only pick this game up of the store shelf, I you are a hardcore RPG fan. Most other gamers would not find this game enjoyable. They would find it highly repitive and boring. I am not trying to dis ATL:Twilight of the Spirits. Even though, that may sound as if that is what I am doing.

THE GOOD:
Soundtrack, character development, gameplay, battle system, the battle between Darc and Kharg, and at one point in the game, if you click the TV, you see Arc's face

THE BAD:
Voiceovers could have been better done, no CG screens >_<

SUMMARY:
The soundtrack to Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits was amazing. It's one of the most important aspects to a game, in my eyes. The gameplay was awesome and addictive and the battle system is one I prefer to all previous systems. Arc lives up to its name in this latest volume. It's difficult to just sit and watch someone else play unless you've been following from the beginning but this game has such a web of lies and betrayal that it's almost too real. The thoughts running through the heads of both Deimos and human are very well organized and hit some strings in the heart...

THE GOOD:

nothing bad really but some of the characters are really weak and you cant switch weapons

SUMMARY:
hmmmm first of all this has a great story line. one of the best ive seen since like ff7.
the Characters are also pretty cool
the story is basically about 2 races that hate each other there are 2 brothers one is a deimos ( the demon race)Darc, and the other is a human (Kharg) and you switch between positions so you can see from both point of views and humans want to destroy deimos and deimos want to destroy humans. Yeah and Darc is half human so he is looked down by the deimos but kharg looks human and etc etc..
but to get the full understanding you gotta get the game

THE GOOD:
Graphics were good enough to handle on the ps2, the dual Story line was a great idea, characters are cool, the turn base battling system was very good...

THE BAD:
The monsters are to easy, I don't like the spirit stone system, and certain characters can hold an amount of items

SUMMARY:
This game was the one rpg, besides Kingdom Hearts, that caught my eye for the ps2, I think that it has to be hands down the best rpg for the ps2, which looking at the stats of the forum everyone sorta disagrees with me. Since I see no one really is that intrested in rpgs like they say they are, they don't know what they are missing out on. Arc the Lad has been a great game ever since the first one came out (which was only in japan) but when the collection hit the stores in america I was there to pick up my copy, and thus I am continuing this great saga of a game with Twilight of the Spirits.
