THE BAD:
lack of auto map, lack of run ability, the fight engine, the lack of consistancy, the outrageous level differences between monsters you fight....
SUMMARY:
Ok, so The Legend of Alon Dar, is a good game, but in my personal oinion, they needed to develop the game alot more. give you more options as a player, to make the game more tolerable.
The biggest problem I have with the game is the recovery time between attacks. That's is single most stupid aspect of this game. I mean seriously, if you take up a knife or sword in real life, and swing at someone or something that's trying to hurt you, and then have to wait 5 seconds to attack with it again, you're going to die, as in this game.
The second thing that annoys the living hell out of me, is the difference in monster abilties between regions you go through. For example, when you're in Pilrims Hatch, you...
THE BAD:
Combat, collectible items, no automap, no speedy way to get from region to region
SUMMARY:
This game succeeds in what I consider the most important aspect of an RPG. When you turn it off, you're anxious to get back to "find out what happens next." The main story line is engaging and the primary quests are strung together in a coherent and enjoyable way.
However, in many other aspects this game is disappointing. The combat system is a compromise between full action and turn based, and fails at both. It works well for single enemies, but groups of them with staggered assaults lead to lots of deaths early in the game. Once you have partners and the ability to morph, this becomes tolerable.
The collectible items are nothing short of irritating. Unlike other RPGs, the items don't glow and are often hidden. There's no consistency (ex: they're always near a...
THE BAD:
Everything else.
SUMMARY:
This game is very badly laid out. You walk for miles and miles, the weapon controls is ridiculous. It's boring for most of the game because you can easily squash the enemies. Then you hit unbelievable levels of monsters that are impossible to kill. There is no consistency in the game. There are very few save points so if you do get killed, it'll take you 5 minutes to walk back to where you were. Very repititious. You walk through the same worlds over and over and over again. So far, we're at hour 25 so if you do play it, you get value for your money in length of time but in no other aspect.
Bring more "Dark Alliance" please. This game in no way measures up.
THE BAD:
The trees are a little sketchy, and some of the battle system is kinda confuseing
SUMMARY:
This is a mut have for the RPGer with a need for a great new game. Again this is a must have for all PS2 Owners.
