Visuals: 10/10. There's 2 types of visuals. Realism and 2-D'ish. This falls under 2-D'ish and it's done very beautifully. There's nothing wrong with it's stunning visuals! It's very easy on the eyes! But these sorts of visuals are very easy to conduct and only requires a professional Game Making program and some drawings. Nontheless, the visuals are great! If it was just visuals, this would be the best game ever, but it's all about gameplay. For you bloodfans, there's also some cartoon blood.
Sound: 8/10. Although there should be one for where you shoot one of the people in the groin, they should scream, but not too loud, this game's soundfactor is very good. To be honest, this game has some of the best sounds and music ever. They're also very funny sounds from cartoons in this game and they sound pretty funny. I laughed a bit after hearing some of the sounds of this game, but then realised that they are kinda old and stale after the first few hours. The music is very odd but it always suits the level, which is good and that's all you need for sounds... that don't hurt your ears.
Lastability: 7/10. This game is not only pretty long, but it's also pretty hard. You have to go through quite a lot of levels and the Government will do anything to stop you. It's pretty hard to get through them without getting shot... on my first try, I lost 5 lives on the first level! Also, the levels are pretty long and you have to try and survive through the Government. The worst part is... one hit, you're dead and they'll surround you quite a bit. One things for certain. It'll take you a while to finish this game 100% and you'll get nothing out of it.
Gameplay: 9/10. The only flaw in the gameplay is probably the Government pretty much being able to go all over you which really sucks, especially if you only have 1 life left and you almost finished the level. But that's only a minor flaw as this game's gameplay is so orginal and great that even this gay flaw doesn't matter. The gameplay is really just 2-D - no, not pretend 2-D like that try at 2-D games Viewtiful Joe, I mean real 2-D. Look at the graphics section of this review - so you'll only move left and right, jump, shoot the Government and some random guy, collect some Power-ups for your gun to kill the Government faster. If you're wondering... you're an alien who crash-landed at the Government building and the Government want to kill you. Anyway, my favourite part of the gameplay is probably where you can shoot the Government right in the balls. It's actually funny the first few times and it's actually a bit quicker than if you shoot them in the head. I think the rest of the gameplay (other than the Government surrounding you quite a lot) is nearly the best I've played and deserves a few thumbs up.
Score: 4.7/5.0 Comment: This game rocks, even if it is sorta easy. |

Graphics Oh, my god. That is actully drawn. So, yes! By a guy called Dan, he made those graphics by pen(or pencil). It isn't impossible -- he IS one super-pro artest SCORE: 9.5/10
Gameplay It`s a beauty. For 400,000,000 hours you will play this game 'cos you can play just shooting, biting, defending, throwing(my favirote) and jumping all together. That isn't just all, though --- there is team-work inside thsi game and while your playing PDA Games (see extras in this review) there is a PDA EDITOR!!! SCORE: 10/10
Sound These shooting sounds might just wake up your baby if you have one and if she is sleeping, but the music is just awsome ace. SCORE: 9/10
Extras PDA Games are the Alien Hominid console. You control a man, going through black-and-white stages, hitting enimies to reach the goal. There is a editor for making your own stages, and over 200 stages... you will be playing this minigame for ever until you finish it.
You can name your own hominid, play it and you can do a dress-up, that makes your own hominid for over 10 hats to choose from. Minigames, setups and much, much more!
Should I buy it or not You have to buy it. I don't care what you say.
What should I get if I like this?
Astro Boy Omega Factor, out now on the GBA. It also is completed from the Metal Slug siries. And, what about the beautyful Vietyful Joe 1/2. Its out everywere on PS2 and Nintendo's Gamecube.
Other Info This game is a must buy for all nyou out there. |

THE GOOD: Everything!!!THE BAD: Umm...no SUMMARY: Holy-Bujeezus this game is AWESOME!!! If you haven't already bought it then I HIGHLY urge you to do so now! Seriously, the game is that good! I mean from the beautifully hand-drawn graphics that far surpass the Flash version of the game on Newgrounds.com to the intense action to the skill related PDA Games mini-game this game has basically everything you could want in a 2D side-scrolling action/shooter game...thing. Also, the game was made by an independant game maker who started off making the Flash version, so heres to the under-dog!
And hey, if your a fan of the Metal Slug Series then this game will feel at home to you except you will have more features like being able to jump on a foes head and control his movements then bite his head off and scare other foes or you can pick your foe up and throw him at others, also you have a charge up shot, get in many different vehicles, you can even dig into the ground and pull foes down to their doom, and you have like 6 completly different weapons that the more you collect the better your sheild becomes. Oh yeah, the sheild, you get a sheild every time you pick up a new weapon and you can also transfer your sheilds HP to your friends sheild. And like the Metal Slug Series, you might wanna get a controller with a "Turbo" funtion, unless you wanna put your thumb to te test like I did!
In a (sorry to say) nutshell (man I hate saying nutshell): buy Alien Hominid because of the beautiful and meticulously drawn graphics, intense action, mini-games, multi-player, and to support a fledging game creator! |
