You've been sent to North Korea by ExOps with one mission: take the manic, nuclear weapon wielding General Song out. The pay? One hundred million dollars. Yes, you read that right. But it won't be easy to get to him. Song's most important associates have been assigned values in a deck of 52, with Song as the Ace of Spades. To get to Song, you have to gather enough intelligence by capturing or killing the majority of the deck. Of course, you're not on your own. "You have unlocked the Bunker Buster bomb". Hmm, this sounds interesting. Arming myself with my new found explosive, I take aim at a large sky scraper. Hesitantly, I give the o.k for the air strike to be called in. Within seconds, it meets it's target. I am greeted by a pathetic explosion. "Is that it!?" I scream in anger. Just as I am about to throw my controller to the ground in anger, it happens. A small bubble forms at the explosion, dragging everything into it. Boxes, people, benches, nothing is spared! Then, without warning EVERYTHING in the nearby vicinity is decimated in a huge shock wave. Buildings collapse to the ground in a heap of rubble, boxes are thrown miles across the land scape as my character falls to the floor in self defence. After the initial explosion subsides, I stand up and take a look around at the destruction have caused. "Not bad!" I think to myself. This my friends, is the joy of Mercenaries.

THE GOOD:
Free roaming gameplay.

Vehicle handling not too good as compared to other driving games.

Some repititiveness amoung missions.

Difficulty - Moderate
First thing - if you're buying this game because you want something like Grand Theft Auto - DON'T. Barring a few similarities - this is a totally different game. If you want a war-game/FPS with free roaming you couldn't do much better than this.

THE BAD:
- Gameplay is somewhat repetative.
- Huge amount of loading time.
- You cannot swim but yet your in the military.
- Air gets foggy when you go up to high in the air.

SUMMARY:
The great graphics are awesome and you can choose what side to work for such as the Russian Mafia, China, South Korea, and Allies. I recommend this game because it was an actual shooting game I liked. Not recommended to people who toss the controller when they die or pansies.

This is a great game that is different to normal war games. This is because it is a free roaming game. This missions are fun, the graphics of the game are amazing and the things you can do are so fun. Youc an do the missions or if you are bored you can just hijack a helicopter and cause destruction or you can call in an airstrike to create even more havok.
I have really enjoyed playing it and is still keeping me going. Whether you will want to play it again might be unlikely but it depends how much you enjoyed it. the amount of people that you need to capture is good and the variation of guns and airstrikes is even better. Ok, so this game is literaly GTA with a military style. You can go anywhere you can go, hijack vechiles and you take on missions from different people (well, factions). A twist to the game is you have to balance five (well, four) factions who mostly, all hate eachother. The Five at US (w00t!), Russian MAFIA, Chinesse, North and South Koreans. The North Koreans, are the universal enemy, the South Koreans, as I hvae found out are everyone bitch, the Chinesse have some tight ass tanks and helos, the Russians are punks with a stupid leader and US, well they smoke everyone. This game is top notch,well thought out and put together. I havent caught one glitch or a single problem with this game. Your able to go all over without having the game loading a different area for you to go in like GTA:III and VC. The gameplay is awesome. If you love war games this is the game for you. The different Mercs your able to playt lets you understand different languages: US Merc:English/Korean. British Merc: English/Chinese. Swedish Merc:English/Russian. If this game cost $100 I would of bought it because of how great this game is. There is no flaw with this game. If you want a tough and challenging game,this is for you because this is one of the hardest yet enjoyable game I have ever played. One of the best games of the 21st century.

Mercinaries is a really fun game. Players have the option to blow up buildings, nuke an area, steal cars, steal heli's, etc. You are allied with the Russian Mafia, China, South Korean, and the Allies.
North Korea is your enemy. The graphics are better than GTA. Fog in the air gets annoying when piloting choopers. The open-ended nature of gameplay and the ability to blow things up to tiny pieces, make if for a fun game.
