X3: Reunion

THE GOOD:
Looks fabulous, if you can stick with it it's excellent value for money, a lot to do with a real free roaming feel.

THE BAD:
V complex and v.slow.

SUMMARY:
I am a gamer in his 30's and I grew up with one of the best ever games- Elite. I was looking for a new version and the reviews of this were good and it seemed to fit the bill.

The problem with this game is the same one I found in Elder Scrolls 3. You start off woefully underpowered. You can do almost nothing to start with and after 5 hours of playing your still as weak as a kitten and as poor as the homeless. Eventually you can get entire star fleets of cruisers doing your bidding, you can run orbital stations, factories and run the universe. But I will have died of old age by then.

However Elder Scrolls appealed to a huge number of people so if you fit that bill this could be the game for you. Everything is lovingly presented with an almost obsessive amount of...
