"With all the substandard translations of Hollywood movies to the computer game screen, this is by no means the worst. There are a lot of interesting elements, including the novelty of overcoming different kinds of gameplay challenges using two different protagonists with contrasting assets. There are tense gunfights, amazing inventions, and authentic period atmosphere. Yet Wild Wild West is disappointing in so many ways. The fun breaks down largely because of the tedium involved. I can guarantee satisfaction only for those absolutely desperate for a computer game set in the Old West."
"Production-wise, Wild Wild West The Steel Assassin is a mixed bag. Some of the scenes are rendered with more detail than others. 3D effects are used, but the views are fixed, and there are no panning camera angles which, in a few instances, is annoying."
"Wild Wild West: The Steel Assassin offers good gameplay and some nice puzzles. But unless youre a die-hard Will Smith fan, you probably can wait until it hits the bargain bin without the guilt of feeling cheap. It is obvious that this game had lots of thought and detail put into it, but sometimes in the wrong direction. SouthPeak seemed to think that they needed to mix the best elements of several great games into this one title in order to make it worth buying."
"Wild Wild West: The Steel Assassin is a solid game. Yes, the story has lapses, and some of the puzzles are tough to swallow, but neither problem is a show-stopper. This is, at times, a quite clever blend of shooter and thinker, and always a lighthearted romp through the West as it wasn't."
"This is a good game for kids that dont care about the overall quality of games. But everyone knows as well as I do that this title would crash and burn without the words "Wild Wild West" printed on the box."
