THE GOOD: Depth of play in the game is amazing; you can control anything in the game be it from who you want to be your next World Champion to what product you want your show to be. A vast selection of scenarios means that you will never get bored of the game. Having the choice of playing such scenarios as 'What if the Montreal Screwjob never happened' to the other world of the 'Cornellverse' The amount of detail; with every different mod you can add to the game there are 100's of different wrestlers to employ in your company, meaning that you will never have to use the same people over and over again.THE BAD: The Price; whilst it is in no way expensive compared to most console games it is compared to EWR, which is free and has almost the same amount of options available as TEW. Loading Times; if you have a slow computer then the game may take a while to process each day, with hundreds of wrestlers to go through each day the game can take a while to progress if your computer is quite old. SUMMARY: TEW is the next generation of Wrestling Simulators made by the man who brought us EWR Adam Ryland. Adam has took what made EWR great and has improved it even more to create TEW, the attention to detail in the game is superb, every possible circumstance has been thought over many-a-time to make sure that the game can be as realistic as possible. With a huge community of fans playing this game and an editor available with the game endless amounts of mods are available also, so you do not have to stick with the same mod that comes with the game, meaning you can choose numerous different scenarios. Whilst the graphics are not the greatest you'd see in a computer game they are not important in this sort of game, the graphics take a back seat to the detail. However it's main strength (detail) can also be it's weakness at times, if people have a slow computer then this can be a hinderence, with the amount of data the game has to process each day it can take a while to progress to the next day. Another problem that may occur with some people is that it does not really have that pick up and play feel, you couldn't just knock your computer on and quickly play the game for say 10 minutes. No, this game requires a lot of time and effort to make sure you enjoy it, so if you want a game you can play for 10 minutes to pass the time this is not for you. However, even with these minor weaknesses I believe this game is a must buy for any wrestling fanatic, wanting to know if they can do a better job of Vincent Kennedy McMahon himself. Therefore I give this great game a great rating of 4.5/5. |
