THE GOOD: New graphic engine.More realistic moves. Almost non-linear.The music and sounds(EAX really works well).THE BAD: The story. The gameplay. Some of Lara's moves were removed. The controls. The camera. The NPCs. The gamespeed. SUMMARY: This game was definetly made for PS2. The controls are incredibly hard to use. The PC version is a mess. I played all that means TR over the years, but i've never seen suck a control. Introducing the mouse is a good thing but if you can control it. Graphic is superb, Lara looks ok, but still there are a lot of bugs, for exemple in Metro Cafe, the barmans head is "insideout". Lara now knows a little less moves with she develop during time by having her "upgraded". This shoulded be a good ideea if it was used properly. By introducing NPC now you feel like you assist to a movie, but sometimes it's boring, not that you can't continue unless you haven't spoke to somebody, except Margot. The music and sounds are the only thing which saves TR6. The music is great and the sounds sometimes are freaky. Now the gamespeed is very low, i mean where is the adrenaline from TR4 per exemple when you had to run, jump, grab, duck, and run again. Now pickable items glow and a hand is showing you them so you can't miss them. Now the difficulty of the game, makes it ideal for 12 years aged kids and below. I am dissapointed by this release and i hope that soon Eidos will release something to erase this failure. |
