Background
The Elder Scrolls Online will be the first Elder Scrolls game to allow gamers to explore the legendary Elder Scrolls world with others. Explore the world of Tamriel and its provinces, including Cyrodiil, Skyrim, Morrowind, the Summerset Isle and even Elsweyr during the Second Era, a time 1,000 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.Set before the rise of the Septim Dynasty and Imperials who unified Tamriel, the various races have forged a trio of alliances which will form the base of player factions: the Ebonheart Pact, Aldmeri Dominion and Daggerfall Covenant. While these factions look to consolidate and expand their holdings across war-torn Cyrodiil, Tamriel faces a grave threat from the Daedric Prince Molag Bal as he seeks to pull the world into his realm of Coldharbour using enormous and mysterious devices called Dark Anchors.
True to the experience of past titles, TES Online will feature free-form exploration and quests with multiple resolutions.
The Elder Scrolls Online is being developed for PC and Mac under the leadership of industry veteran Matt Firor, who has spent the last two decades working in online game development.
