THE GOOD: Brillant dog fights and team play over the net or lan.
SUMMARY: I my opinion it's the best space sim since wingcommander series, for single and multiplayer gaming. The controls are quite complicated, but when you get used to it, you be swooping power levels to get the best performance.
Tachyon: The Fringe...I remember spending a heap of my time playing this wonderful game. Though it is classified as a space combat game, I would prefer to call it a mix between an RPG and an FPS. I'll start by saying one thing: I despise RPG games. Therefore, this game really surpassed expectations, and once again, I found myself enjoying a game made back in 2000 more than other games from today. So let's delve deep in to the insanity that is my mind to find out why!
First off, one of the most important aspects of any game, as far as I'm concerned: Storyline. Tachyon tells the story of Jake Logan, a pilot-for-hire who works for the corporations. Several missions in to the game, a turn of events occurs, and you are eventually faced with two options: Side with the Bora, a freedom fighter group known by some as terrorists, or the corporations. Tachyon's storyline is rather linear. Were it not for the choice to side with a certain faction, it would be completely linear. The game progress...
THE GOOD: The graphics in my opinion. were pretty good...and also the story , The soundtrack was awesome
THE BAD: The bad thing is.. well It's too complicated ...and some people might give up too easily...anyway ..other then that there isn't much bad stuff about it..
SUMMARY: This a pretty good.game and I recommend it too anyone that like's these sort of games.....The weapons...are awesome ..and this game is extremely hard...good luck to anyone that plays it...hehe..you'll need it...
THE GOOD: Great graphics, easy interface, and pretty tough missions back this game UP! Great handling, superb enemy and Ally AI, make this game a must! In 98'
THE BAD: Not great graphics considered in this day and age. Some impossible missions, and c'mon New Vegas?
SUMMARY: Great voice-overs, good graphics for its time, and superb AI. The weapons are effective, and some pretty hard missions keep you playing. Although some are impossible, the abundance of codes is a releif. Not that I used any of course....
THE GOOD: The game has an excellent storyline. That is what makes this game. It also has some voices from famous actors such as Bruce Campell (Evil Dead, Army of Darkness). It aslo has a multiplayer, but I've never played it. Its really a good game.
THE BAD: Well, there isn't much. Other than the underused multiplayer. (does ANYONE ever play it). The graphics aren't that good, but what would you expect from a old game?
SUMMARY: In the end this game is a good buy. It might be a bit old, but it will intrigue you till the very end. From start to begining this game has an immersive, introspective storyline that pulld you in. I gave this game to my friend a year ago, and he still talks about it. (If you really want to know what happened to the Halley space station, choose Bora!)
