THE GOOD: A very entertaining game, yet difficult. Good graphics, and quite detailed, right down to the chickens running around. (which you can kill) Played the first and loved it, playing the second and can't stop.
THE BAD: Better have some good RAM in the computer, alot of things going on at one time in this game. In my opinion 256k of RDRam or 512 of SDRAM. Some VERY difficult stages to get through, with no difficulty setting to help out.
SUMMARY: Those of us who have played and beat the first, will love this one. Here are a few things I've done to win. 1) At the begining of each senerio change the game speed to the slowest setting. This will slow the speed of your enemies, allowing you to build a defense. 2) Build a pub, and a merchant first. Then purchase the ale so you can raise the taxes for income. 3) Since your enemies always have as much if not more gold. DEFENSE<DEFENSE is your best plan at first. Crossbowmen in a tower are by far the best defense, better shooting skills, more ...
With Lords and Ladies,Knights and Drunks, flower gardens and killing pits, this is a great simulation of mideval life and death. I have spent days buildng castles, villages, maps complete with hills, valleys and mountians, and this is the single player mode. Multiplayer on line gaming is beyond discription.
SUMMARY: This is a great kill or be killed strategy game that can also be a peaceful yet enthraling economic based game. You can trade with your neighbour,or pour boling oil on him, what could be more fun than that? Build a simple village or a grand fortress, just remember "That which you build, you must defend!" Your kingdom awaits.
THE GOOD: It has an excellent sound thingy. If you got to the blacksmith and look through the walls watching your villagers working and taking a break you hear the "ting ting" of the swords being made, great game.
THE BAD: There is only a campaing mode i hear. And the ai is pretty bad
SUMMARY: SORRY I DONT HAVE TIME TO WRITE A FULL REVIEW,IM GOING TO BUY IT NOW.I HAVE ONLY PLAYED THE DEMO.
The game has great graphics, even if there kinda 2D,they would look kinda stupid in 3D. And i heard people complaing about the leveling of the ground and your supposed to hit the spacebar.
THE GOOD: Good Graphics, Very involving addictive gameplay, attention to detail. Endless strategy.
THE BAD: Learning curve may be a tad too much for some to reap the rewards of this game.
SUMMARY: This is one of the best games I've ever played. It's one of those titles that the more you play, the better it becomes. I'll admit that at first I was a little overwhelmed. Setting up my economy, building good defences, and trying to put together a military all the while enemy troops come storming in from time to time can be a bit perplexing at first. But I have not spent anytime in the free build mode either. Not to worry though, once the pieces start falling together, and they will, it becomes second nature. This is not your basic RTS. In fact, I'd say Stronghold redefines Real Time Strategy. The tutorial is good and the missions advance at just the right pace so it's easy to learn as you play. The game is very polished and I haven't noticed any bugs so far. About the only negative I can thin...
THE GOOD: Very good graphics, Large for extended gameplay, good multiplayer support, atmospheric music.
THE BAD: £29.99 , Very complicated/Difficult.
SUMMARY: I would recommend this game to the experienced gamer and those that like a really good challenge. Very interesting and atmospheric music and Sfx. Not a very addictive game i think because of the Difficulty, although multiplayer can be quite enjoyable. Definatley Not a must have for the Fast gamer!.
THE GOOD: Superb level of detail, incredible depth, masses of gameplay, humour and freedom to create your perfect castle combine to make a wonderful gaming experience.
THE BAD: You will lose hours of your life to this game.
SUMMARY: I just spent virtually my entire weekend playing Sronghold and after a serious amount of hours have just finished the 'King's Ransom' level. It took Jackie Brown to come on TV to stop me playing last night! I have to say this is the most detailed, beautiful, complex, fun, addictive and just downright enjoyable game I have played for years. I must say I am a little biased in that the subject material is one of my interests since a small boy. You know the score - build a castle with a multitude of interchangeable parts, defend your people from continuous waves of attackers (in seige Campaign Mode), whilst trying to develop and maintain an economy with various resource-gathering and production buildings to support your construction and troop creation. Other ...
