"When I first began playing SimTheme Park, I strongly felt it completely paled in comparison to RollerCoaster Tycoon. Having evaluated it for many hours, it has begun to grow on me. While SimTheme Park has some problems with goals and interface, its creative sense of fun does shine through. The gameplay draws you in, and I find myself playing on so I can see the next amazing ride developed. While I have never been a real fan of construction simulations and god games, SimTheme Park has helped convince me of the potential for frivolous long-term enjoyment of this genre."
"SimTheme Park is a thoroughly enjoyable strategy game that's easy enough to get into that it just might attract people who aren't into strategy games. There's a reasonably elaborate simulation under all the cheerfulness and joy, but it's not daunting."
"this is an injustice to the Sim and Theme brands. It lacks the quirky, sometimes dark humor of either series or the adult decision-making, and instead offers a bland simulation for the kiddies. That’s fine for them, but what about my needs?"
"Theme Park World benefits from some great innovative ideas, the camcorder mode is inspired, and the ease of creating rides is a godsend. However, there are a couple of niggly little problems which let the side down, there are only four parks included, that onscreen advisor did become far too annoying and occasionally the interface did prove difficult to navigate. There are a lot of sim games around, and, although Theme Park World is not a bad game, it needs to do more to be my preferred theme park title."
"I predict Sim Theme Park will do very well and be one of those games you keep coming back to so you can "tinker" with your park. In a world of shoot'em up's and conquer the world type games, Sim Theme Park is an enjoyable and above all, fun oasis."
