SUMMARY: This Game is extremely buggy and overly complex, too many unwarranted items to check. The Plot is great, the play is good (albeit) but there are way too many no plot items that make it uncaringly long and boring at times. Maybe I'm being overly critical of it because I really am more a 1st Person Shooter kind and not an RPG type. But I have enjoyed both throughout my years of Gaming Experience's (which is considerable in my 45 years). The Side Quests sometimes left me running Helter Skelter and redundantly going over and over and over the same turf numerous times for little or no reward but the sound of Triumphant Orchestration and some redundant Gold Pieces. Too numerous where the times I had to load a saved game and re-equip to a smaller weapon because I had become soo Powerful that I had Struck Down an Adversary (and that was when I knew I had struck...
THE GOOD: This game has many good features, most notably, free online play. With hundreds of servers hosting different and varied online modules, there is likely a server for every sort of gaming style. With regards to the game itself, the most notable features are the excellent graphics, character customization, and the DM toolset. For all of the reasons above, I consider this game well worth the money.
THE BAD: Unfortunately, the game is quite buggy. That, combined with the lackluster single player campaign, somewhat ruined my initial impressions of the game. It was then that I went online and found where the game's strength truly lies.
SUMMARY: This game is groundbreaking for its ingenuity, most notably the free online play, game/character customization, and DM toolset. (especially in a gaming age where Everquest charges ten dollars a month and multiple expansions to keep playng.)
THE GOOD: Charater creation Camera angles Game Layout Game storyline Lots of submissions to gain xp Tough enemies, not your average weaklings Lots of spells to choice from Loads of weapons, potions, scrolls, teammates Great coloring
THE BAD: That I don't get to play this game enough. Store price, but hey, someone has to make money and keep the game free on the net.
SUMMARY: You love to sit around and rp with your friends one night a week, of course you do. Go all day through school or work dreaming your back in charater. Once you play this game you will be hooked on continuing the story every chance you get playing on the pc until you beat the game. Travel through NeverWinter destroying hobgoblins, dire wolves, eveil fighters, and your occasional lawful good human.
THE GOOD: - The graphics - The character creation - Some good gameplay features - Conversations
THE BAD: - Sound is not THAT good - Buggy - What's with all the barrels? - Plot not always interesting
SUMMARY: Opening Comments:
So, here's the next best thing from Bioware after the awesome Baldur's Gate series. There has been a great hype about this game and I cannot blame the game press. It is a new standard in AD&D gaming, that's for sure. Revolutionary 3D gaming in an epic Forgotten Realms environment. New and improvement gameplay which makes you forget Baldur's Gate in an instant. The story is so great, that all other stories seem lame and unoriginal. Everything in this world is possible, the most amazing creatures will pass your eyes and you cannot imagine that you will ever play a game like that ever again in your life! At least, that's what the developers said. Let's find out if it's true, shall...
THE GOOD: Graphics are awesome, multiplayer is great, editor set is a good bonus, and the sound track is ok
THE BAD: Plot, game play
SUMMARY: The game looks great, especially the spell effects, but the game is really sub-par on the playability. The game is extremely repetitive, exploration is unrewarding and tedius, character developement is boring, and the plot feels like it drags on and on. The game should be about two chapters shorter.
The henchman system is ok but I saw no advantage in "balancing" my party by choosing henchman of supporting classes. I played as a paladin, and as such, was not about to link up with a thief or spellcaster of a non-lawful alignment. I instead chose the barbarian, who is good and noble, and even though we were both fighters his superior damage combined with my healing and turning made us unstopable. I have beaten almost the entire game with no magic spells at all, no ability to disarm traps,...
THE GOOD: It looked nice for the few minutes it worked, other than that I really couldn't tell ya.
THE BAD: Can not get the game to run despite exceeding recommended system requirements (well above minimum) and despite several driver, directx, game version configurations.
SUMMARY: This is the buggiest game I've ever encountered. Clearly it works for some people out there, but I get a hard crash consistently every time I've run it. I suppose every PC game gives certain gamers a lot more trouble than most, but I don't have a particularly exotic system so I think it's a bit absurd.
I would suggest that any ATI Radeon users out there be cautious before buying(I have the original ATI All in Wonder Radeon). There have been several bug fixes in the last few upgrades on the website, but I'm fairly certain that my problems involve ATI compatibility issues.
Please note** I am not a computer illiterate gamer. I'm a...
THE GOOD: The graphics are relatively great, especially the sounds, and the character development is something you'd want to look out for.
THE BAD: Contrary to the various gossip, the game is not something you'd want to play again. It can get very tedious.
SUMMARY: Plot Having been thrown into a realm that's in chaos, you relatively have no idea what's goin' on at the beginning of the game. All you know is that you have to save this and that, and you have to find this and that.
If you're looking for diversity, and countless things to do, like sidequests, you would be bored of the single player mode at the very start. It is like you're playing Diablo II, where there is nothing to do but kill and kill, and defeat. At the start, the story is very one-pathed, and you are stuck to doing deeds that you might not want to do.
Oh, don't worry, there are other things to do, but doin' them could kill you in a...
THE GOOD: Great graphics and a storyline on a par with the quality of Bioware's masterpiece - Baldurs Gate II. Familiar gameplay, near-unlimited customisation and the intuetive module pack.
THE BAD: Surprisingly buggy, and many good features left out in the finished versian. Despite what you may hear, this is nowhere near as good as Baldurs Gate + Sequals.
SUMMARY: This game was the most anticipated Western RPG game since Canadian developers Bioware made the unbeatable Baldurs Gate II. The game had been made in a new 3D engine that Bioware had created, sparking off a round of cheers, as it showed the evolution of Baldurs Gate, and a load of dismay, if it herelded the end of Bioware's Infinity engine, that had worked so well in the past.
Still, its natural selection, and 3D must take presidence in this gaming age. Now the product has been finished, but how good was it?
Starting straight off the mark, this isn't as good as...
THE GOOD: It runs pretty smoothly, has nice grahics, the ability to download and write your own modules is nice and it generally is addictive.
THE BAD: I found it glitched out too much on my pc and it did get a bit repetitive
SUMMARY: Plays quite like baldurs gate which really isn't a bad thing. It does get a little repetitive after a while but is still an enjoyable game and the module ability is nice aswell and increases the games live span. All in all I think this is a great game and one of the better pc rpgs.
THE GOOD: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
THE BAD: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
SUMMARY: What can I say? it's the best game i've ever played since mythical baldur's gate 2. So if it's posibble i AAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAa aaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaa
