"NASCAR Legends, while lacking innovation, solidifies for the time being Sierra and Papyrus' position as king of the NASCAR hill."

"Excellent representation of the 1970 NASCAR racing season. The cars are much larger than those found on the track today and handle differently. The game looks great and sounds good, although the engine rumble isn't quite up to par with what I was expecting. Small problems with collision detection and configuration of input devices exist, but nothing too serious."

"NASCAR Legends is not the leap forward that many Papyrus fans were expecting, and it is priced rather high. But when you look at the total package--don't forget that the NASCAR series still features the best force feedback, the most thunderous car sounds, and the finest race replays in the business--there should be just enough fuel remaining in the tank for most NASCAR fans."
"NASCAR Legends lives up to the proud tradition of other Papyrus games. It is one of the finer racing simulations I've played, despite a few annoyances. If you already own NASCAR 3 and want to add a bit of fantasy to your gaming life, relive the past with this excellent game. It doesn't exactly drip with 1970s atmosphere, but plays and feels sufficiently different to warrant a purchase."

"There's nevertheless an undeniable quality in the overall craftsmanship of the game. We wished the price were closer to that of an expansion pack, but for the demanding racer looking for 1970s driving, there's nothing better."
