"If you enjoyed the original game, then this is definitely what you've been waiting for. "
"A fairly detailed review of Return to Na Pali."
"The best feature of Na Pali is the addition of new weaponry. Three new weapons address shortcomings of the original game. A new Combat Assault Rifle (CAR) provides the firepower of the chaingun with the accuracy of the sniper rifle. It's a nice combination. The Grenade Launcher launches grenades which explode on contact, or, after they have come to rest, with a proximity fuse or timer (whichever comes first). The idea is nice but I only used this weapon effectively once. Why use a grenade when a rocket works so much better? People have been asking that question since Quake. The third new weapon addresses this rocket-launcher question with a better rocket launcher. The Rocket Launcher works in two modes: point and shoot or guided. Unlike the 8-Ball, rockets from the Rocket Launcher must accelerate to the target."
"The premise behind this mission pack builds on events after the end of the original game, with your character persuaded to return to Na Pali (hence the catchy title) to retrieve a certain item from your prison ship in return for a full pardon. The story is relayed via a series of cut-scenes and an ongoing narrative."
"There are a few new enemies in Return to Na Pali's gameplay. Since there are only three, these foes do not contribute to the game's value a great deal. There are Spiders, Pack Hunters, and Space Marines each of them are unique, but there is still no innovation. It seems that Legend Entertainment has inserted the first thing they thought of into Return to Na Pali and stuck with it. Even though, these additions to this expansion pack only further the gameplay, it seems that Legend did not exploit Return to Na Pali's potential. A vast world where people are intrigued with its inhabitant, futurism and weapons, but they have only created spiders! The new enemies and weapons in Return to Na Pali should have been more imaginative, at least have unique names."
