Myst IV: Revelation is the fourth flagship instalment in the graphic adventure game series originally created by Cyan Studios. Player becomes series protagonist the Stranger as they once again venture into and explore alternate worlds called "Ages" to assist the explorer Atrus. The Stranger is tasked with making contact with Atrus' sons Achenar and Sirrus after they were previously imprisoned twenty years ago as punishment for attempting to plunder the Ages. However, Atrus' daughter Yeesha has suddenly gone missing following Achenar and Sirrus' escape, and the Stranger must explore the Ages to determine what has happened to both her and Atrus' two sons.

Like previous entries in the series, exploration in Myst IV: Revelation revolves around travelling to "nodes" across each Age and fully exploring the environments in each in order to find puzzles to solve and clues to gather. Players can interact with the environment at select points in certain nodes in order to further investigate. New to Revelations is the ability to quickly backtrack to previously visited nodes in each Age.

Myst IV: Revelation contained enough data to fill 12 CDs, hence it was originally released on DVD as the primary storage medium in 2004. The game features a soundtrack composed by Jack Wall of Exile, as well as a musical track and the voice talents of Peter Gabriel.
