"If there is any potential problem with Martian Gothic, it will be the actual game puzzles. Talonsoft promises that the game will have reasonable obstacles that will tie in with the plot. What's that all about? What self respecting Martian Base doesn't use slide puzzles to secure an admission pass to the Nightly Amish Rake Fighting Contest, which you have to win so that you can get the secret key out of the trophy that unlocks the safe in the abandoned Furby factory where the anti-viral serum is stored? I suppose I can live with reasonable puzzles though. Perhaps Talonsoft can work on this before the game is released."
"There are a lot of different game types mixed into Martian Gothic and unfortunately none of them can be classed as great in their own right. The adventure side is lacking and perhaps a little too easy for some and the action side is limited. I will say that it has some very atmospheric moments and the majority of the speech is very well played out but it doesn't quite have the scares that Resident Evil and its sequels had a few years ago. It is also almost 6 times the price of the US version here in Europe."
"Martian Gothic displays promise in virtually every aspect of its design, reflecting the ambitious initial inspiration, but somehow finds a way to botch up the principal features in the actual execution of the product. "
"At its core, the gameplay is relatively simplistic. Controlling three characters at once is no hassle (as long as you do not leave them in a dangerous area), and exploration and combat are easy to grasp. Movement and combat are nearly identical to the Resident Evil model, but simpler. Accurately aiming your weapons is the only awkward action, as bullets currently tend to fly right through your targets."
"Martian Gothic has relatively few bugs, but every problem encountered resulted in a setback. "
