The design seems to mean well, but it keeps on insulting you – offering challenges that aren’t, or puzzles that don’t. Oh it’s not all bad: some of the scripted scenes of destruction are simply wonderful. We just wish the entire game had been delivered with such hysterical verve.

The game has a decent backstory, but the way it unravels is a bit on the predictable side. This is a game with potential that didn’t quite live up to it. "

"Thanks to the premise of the game, Legendary could've been an interesting adventure with monsters, powers and the apocalypse as a backdrop. Unfortunately, the gameplay comes across as messy and incomplete, the arrangement of hazards and threats from monsters is ineffective at best and boring at worst. Plot points and development is practically nonexistent, and the standard shooter mechanics just fall flat. Even the superior mouse and keyboard configuration can't overcome the technical issues. If you need a shooter, look elsewhere, because Legendary isn't close to what its namesake claims to be."
