Background:
Operation Barbarossa is an extension to IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles game. The title has derived from "Plan Barbarossa", the name given by Adolf Hitler to the fascist invasion into the USSR on June 22, 1941.

Features:

2 new campaigns, total 500 partially historically accurate missions

The players will go through all significant battles on the WWII Eastern Front from the Smolensk operation in July 1941 to the battle for Berlin in spring 1945

The players will follow the war way of the 52nd squadron of the Luftwaffe (JG52) and take command of I./JG52 or II./52 by the end of the war

Bf-109 or FW-190 as the primary fighter, with modification possibility while progressing through the campaigns

A wide range of the missions including as free hunting, convoys protection, test- and reconnaissance flights, diversion missions and the land troops air-cover.
