"Those looking for the most realistic, complicated, and detailed helicopter simulation ever made may not be pleased with what they find in Gunship!. However, the vast majority of gamers that possess an ounce of interest in helicopters or fun flight sims should be licking their chops. Graphically, it looks great, it plays well, and its interface, artificial intelligence, realism, and difficulty settings are some of the most scalable I've ever encountered. Gunship! appears ready to take off without a hitch when it launches into stores later this month."
"Gunship deserves a look from arcade junkies as well as hardcore flight sim veterans. Though it may not be either of their collective groups' cup of tea, it will be a worthy addition to their collection. "
"All these issues make the situation even worse, if for no other reason than you really want to like Gunship! If it worked as promised, this would be a top-notch sim, up there in the vaulted roost of Longbow 2. The graphics are very cool, especially the forests that sprawl before you, making this the first sim with believable, low-level terrain. Unfortunately, rockets, bombs and missiles have no effect on the trees, so their impact on gameplay is quite limited. Explosions are huge and sound effects are near-perfect, but this is all eye-candy for a sim that has no soul. As it stands now, Gunship! is a complete waste of your money. Until Hasbro gets cracking on a patch, there is no distance far enough to remain from this title. Besides, the best patch you can get is KA-52 Team Alligator. As for you, Hasbro ... please, for the love of all that's holy, don't screw up B-17!"
"Gunship! is difficult to recommend without many reservations. On the one hand there is an attempt at realism (at the higher setting), attention to some details, graphics excellence, but on the other hand are the repetitive canned missions in campaigns, some control snafus, mystifying design features (or lack of), dumbed-down avionics, the cancellation of its linking battlefield mate Tank Platoon!, and an unoriginal setting. In the final analysis, while Gunship! is a splended graphical achievement, it isnt as fun to play as its ancestors: Gunship and Gunship 2000. "
"Potentially: A real fine helicopter game. Actually: A frickin nightmare. "
