PC  One Great MMORPG 4.0

THE GOOD:
This MMORPG is great for the price of only $50 and no monthly fees; one of the greatest upsides. Don't get me wrong saying that people only play it because its cheap; the Graphics are pretty realistic, a greay sight with some beautiful images. I myself found Old Ascalon a bit gloomy because of the dark colors, but none the less I adored it.

The wide range of music is interesting to listen to, though my volume is usually turned off when playing, only because I prefer to listen to my music. But when I'm in the heat of a mission, the music from Guild Wars seems to help concentrate.

The storyline in PvE is one of the main things that attracted me; I won't give any spoilers, but it is one of the most original and creative I've ever seen. Combined with many plot twists, races(you can only play as humans though), and scenery, the main plot is spectacular.

Gameplay and battling are enjoyable. Its more strategic than other games. You only can get up to a maximum of level 20, so how you create your build and work with your team decides how you good you will do, not how much obsessive time you spend training.

Which brings me to another point; time. Unlike other MMORPGs, you don't have to spend hours a day playing for it to be any fun(though if you want to, go right ahead).

Some may dislike this but I prefer to have your own private map shared with you and your team when traveling outside of outposts; another upside.

THE BAD:
There are some downsides to this game though; some players in the Guild Wars community are a bit cruel, so you just have to fiind a way to ignore them.

One thing I really dislike is it may take a while before you can assemble a team for a mission or PvP battle, which can be a drag, especially if you lose and team members just keep leaving.

I also don't like that you now have to have your guild pay 100g everytime a new member joins.

And if you have a slower computer, its a bit laggy but better than

SUMMARY:
I really think the pros outweigh the cons in this weighing, but a lot of the reasons you should/shouldn't but this game may affect differently to different interests, depending on what appeals to you.

I think this is oen of the best mmo's. Anyone else? I like the fact that you don't need to pay to play like WoW. I also like that the story line plays a big part in the game. I really fond npthing wrong with the game. Right now I am on my way to Kryta. I can't wait to get to the underworld. I am a level 15 Necro/Ranger. My guild name is Knights of Osiris and yes I am the guild leader. If you would like to join I am holding guild tryouts every Sunday night at Lions Arch. So if you would like to join come there around 9 pm. My characters name is Foamy Master. I also have a question, can you get a tournament in RPG mode. If you know email me at foamy1479@yahoo.com, or just e-mail me to get a hold of me to get together on guild wars. Well I think Area net did an awsome job and thats pretty much it.

This is one of the hottest games I have played this whole year - superb graphics and a soundtrack by NIN make this a great action romp. Some other users have diss'd the game cuz they say it's too short, or it doesn't have enough weapons.... forget what they say, cuz the game is freaking HARD, and the weapons that you have access to require some serious skill to really master, so all in all the game is tuff to beat, and not at all suitable for pansies. Two thumbs way up!This is one of the hottest games I have played this whole year - superb graphics and a soundtrack by NIN make this a great action romp. PC  MMORPG That rewards strategy over hours grinding 4.0

THE GOOD:
Stunning graphics
Interesting back story
Rewards planning and strategy
No monthly fee
No lag
Excellent gameplay

THE BAD:
Mediocre documentation
Restrictive movement
Minor graphics glitches
Hard to figure out the true value of items and what they're used for
Communication with others met while playing (minor nit)

SUMMARY:
This game is very different from the other MMORPGs on the market. First and formost is the fact that there is no monthly fee. One thing that stopped me from playing the other online games was I felt I was getting ripped off when a company made me pay for their game to install it and then pay again every month for the "privledge" of actually playing it. With Guild Wars you buy the game once, go online to play for free. You have the option to buy future expansions online, but it's not mandatory. The second thing I didn't like about the other games was way you HAD to play an enormous number of hours to acquire the levels, skills and goodies nececessary to be competitive. In GW you level up quickly, get competitive skills quickly and then it becomes your strategy that determines the outcome. The third reason I didn't like other MMORPGs is the presence of "griefers" who only exsist to ruin your game experience. GW creates a streaming world just for you and your party everytime you leave a town. No more jerks.
This is a wonderful game and the minor quirks can easily be overlooked.

THE GOOD:
1. Dont have to pay monthly fees and i mean NEVER
2. Easy to learn and fun game to play with friends
3. Huge wide worlds
4. Fun player vs player

THE BAD:
1. Sometimes you can get lost for a while
2. More for people who dont suck at video games no offense
3. Low level players can defeat you if they are lucky enough

SUMMARY:
This game i think has lots of detailed graphics and while you play it its carefree because you dont have to pay for any fees and you can play as much as you want. It also has a system unique to itself and I find awesome the primary and secondary classes(unlike some games) Theres over 120 spells and all of them are unique.. areanet will keep updating for free with new places to visit and new weapons and armor. I definiteley reccomend this game for anyone who wants to enjoy a expanse rpg with many diffrent types of creatures and places to explore
