"...the world's deadliest romancer has seen his share of service in our living rooms. But it's really been in the last three years that we've been presented with the majority of titles involving 007. "

"For you die-hard deathmatch fans, full Internet and LAN multiplayer support will be implemented in the PC version. There is no mention of multiplayer support for the PlayStation 2 version, even though the system is supposed to have multiplayer capabilities. Even the mention of a split-screen mode, like in Goldeneye on the N64, was missing. Ditto for the PlayStation version, which is being developed externally by Black Ops Entertainment (Black Dawn, Treasures of the Deep): there is no mention of if or how multiplayer will be supported."

"So what is The World is Not Enough going to do for the average shooter fan? Here are the facts we do know: the game is coming at us with the Quake 3 engine. We will see suitcases full of spy goodies that would make Sean Connery envious. We will get to nab some vehicles. The game locales will be exotic and huge. The game is set to hit consoles as well as the PC. Lastly, the game will feature Bond honeys, ain't nothing wrong with that. Now, go brush your teeth."
"The World is not Enough clocks in as the fifth game to use id's phenomenal Quake III engine. The list of technological buzzwords includes winning phrases such as "high detail textures" and "volumetric fog," not to mention the engine's trademark curved surface rendering (a feature that might actually be more applicable to some of the character models, particularly those of Bond's… companions)."

"While The World is Not Enough is the second Bond game to be published by Electronic Arts, it's the first game to return to GoldenEye's first-person-shooter formula. "

"As always, the tricky part of adapting a film is how you turn cinematic moments into gameplay. The World Is Not Enough will be sticking quite closely to the original movie, but EA is adding tweaks and balances to flesh out the plot and to make the experience feel like a real game, rather than a polygonal version of the movie. Mission-wise, the game takes place over 14 missions, with locations ranging from the Caucasus mountains to Zukovsky's casino to Renards' runaway submarine at the end."
