"Demolition Racer is basically a straight port from the Playstation version of the same game. In fact, the only thing really changed at all is the graphics. There is no multiplayer, and the tracks are quite boring. Even with decent gameplay (that can be very fun - until you have played it several times), this game still cannot be commended for being a very good effort at the sport of demolition derby."
"Unlike many other upcoming Infogrames racing releases, which are sequels to tried-and-true (if by no means perfect) Accolade racers, Demolition Racer is the first of its kind from either company, and it is quite clear that it needs a lot more tuning. Subpar graphics, defective sound and an inadequate interface, combined with having no multiplayer mode and most of the options initially locked, are just the beginning of the problems here. In the end, although I love crazy crashing into cars, I would rather do so in tamer but higher quality racers such as Microsoft's Midtown Madness than in Demolition Racer."
"I expected so much more. I at least expected some type of more realistic looking graphics or car physics or something. I know that there are games out there that have gotten some of these ideas done right in the past. This game should at least be as good as the best parts of any driving/crashing game that have come before it. Driver, Destruction Derby..."
"It seems this game was first made for the console, then ported over for the PC, without adding a lot of features that computer gamers would like to see. A refreshing break from all the in-depth story lines and long winded movies as it may be, it turns out that this is just an arcade game, with no true motivation got you to play."
"Its fun for a little while, but even at its best, its just not that great. A racing game in which the soundtrack is the best part of the experience just isnt doing something right. Gamers who dont mind shallow arcade games may have fun here, but probably not for long. The game lacks depth and innovative features, so look elsewhere for racing fun."
