"A worthy member of the Close Combat series. The Battle of the Bulge has been done to death but this is a good enactment of it. The campaign has a slightly more dynamic feel to it, but for the most part the series standards are intact. Not as original as it could be, but certainly a good game."
"The Battle of the Bulge was one of the most brutal campaigns of WWII and was won by the Allies through deft strategy and sheer guts. In the latest real time strategy incarnation of the Close Combat series, the challenge of war is brought down to the tactical squad level where the morale of your troops is just as important as strategic positioning. Though not for the strategic faint of heart, for fans of realistic wargaming, the Close Combat franchise has delivered another winner."
"Fans of the Close Combat series will lap this game up, and it's a very worthy follow-up to it's popular predecessors. Strategists new to the series should definitely give Close Combat IV a try too - the extra realism makes for a very refreshing change from other RTS titles, although it has to be said it makes the game a lot more challenging."
"Fights are beautifully explosive affairs witnessed from a blimp's 500-foot-altitude vantage point. A Panther tank puffs black smoke as its diesel accelerates, explosions burst translucent orange, and the wispy black-gray smoke slowly rolls across pockmarked fields. But the sensory sweets aren't limited to eye candy. Weapons have distinct sounds, from the rip-snort of the German's MG34 machine gun to the chugga-chugga of the American's .50 cal."
"All things considered, this game is extremely fun and very addictive. Anybody who is familiar with these games could jump right in and gamers who are new to this genre wouldnt be surprised by how addictive this game can be. The new Force Pool is well integrated into the campaign and the fresh new units add a more challenging feel to it. However, the AI could be reworked a little more and perhaps the units ability to destroy tanks could be a lot more flexible."
