City of Heroes

City of heroes is an interesting MMO made by NCsoft (Lineage, Guild wars, Tabula Rasa...) that offers players the opportunity to create their very own superhero. It may sound like a completely new concept for an MMO but some of the fighting and questing aspects are obvious conventions of the best MMOs such as World of Warcraft.

First of all you must create your superhero. The first step to creating your hero will be choosing the hero's origin. There are five different origins: Mutant, Science, Magic, Natural and Technology. Your origin is basically HOW your hero gained their powers. Your origin doesn't affect the game too much but some in game items are origin specific. Next you choose an archetype which is pretty much the same as choosing your class. Again, there are five of these. You have the blaster who is a master at range attacks, the controller who can manipulate enemies, the defender who can buff party members, the scrapper who is a high offense but low defence...
