THE GOOD: Everything once you down load the patch. More than enough to keep me busy for months. Years?
THE BAD: If you decide to go for technology, get a lot of follwers and specialize.
SUMMARY: In making character, get good persuasion skills and picklock really helps. It's good fun. I'm 60 and love computer games. There's a great Dog in this one. I havew it on slow and easy but next time I'll play harder. You can make your own character or play a predetermined one which you choose. The non Playing Characters respond differently to your character each time. There are mods to pick up and play. It has a long, long playtime so if you want a short game, this is definitely not for you. But if you want to spend time and not too much money, roleplaying Arcanum is good choice.
THE GOOD: Can import Mods and you can also create mods but do not expect that to be easy to do. 3 Different methods of battling (Real Time, Turn Based and Fast Turn Based). Also customizeble characters are nice but it's just not as customizeble as I would like, you inevnitble have to focus on a few areas else you'll find yourself on the floor hoping that your followers can save your butt quick enough.
There are choices you can take and you can select your own race and gendar. You can also selcet your own background which effects your characters starting stats if you have already decided what you want to become this is good.
THE BAD: Many Bugs. Like allies trying too attack aggressive/hated enemies which you can not get to. (tho if you walk off sooner or later they will follow you and you can get out of attack/battle mode)
SUMMARY: It's an ok game, Worth the now budget price that you can get it for. But there are many bugs in this game and some are blantant to see. Like being able to run ...
THE GOOD: Its a good game the storyline is great and u can cheats like *bleep*
THE BAD: This game sucks on detail and lots of *bleep*in bug and it don't get gr8 fights its quite shite in *bleep*in talkin as well
SUMMARY: Heres a way 2 get money for free which is stupid but actually works:
Once u get into town and sell that person the camera and show him the ring or if u don't have the camera it don't matter, anyway quick save the game behind him and pickpocket him for his bed room key and if u fail hit F8 to reload ur quicksave until u get the key. once you've done that go into his room and go into his chest in his bedroom and take all what u want, then sell the stuff to him and once he runs out of money just skip a few days in the same room and he got more money. you can take all his stuff and keep selling it to him until u get the desired amount of money u want and then u can buy all the stuff u want, but its a long enough process but its good though. hope u use this its better than the...
After completing the entire game, here is my verdict. First, let me say that the graphics were not adequate for today's standards. The graphics are somewhat flat, pixilated, and very much out-dated. With lavish ambiance to some extent, and nicely done character portraits, that compensates somewhat for the out-dated visuals. However, I still do not feel the quality was nearly adequate.
Now, as for the gameplay, it had several errors, that made navigating through this RPG very difficult and most frustrating. The errors included: Your NPCs getting restrained on a wall or rock, forcing you to go back and fetch them. Occasional crashes, which were most aggrivating.
As for the online playability, don't even contemplate the idea. It's absolutely horrid. It barely runs, and if it does, it's terribly slow and the environments are quite compact also.
Over all, this is a decent game, while far from being excellent; but it does have enough sub-quests and a rather nicely done, but repetitive soundtr...
the originalityin story and the diversity in gameplay should be enough but this game has the one thing that keeps me playing no matter the kinks and bugs possibly elsewhere and that's the lush, original atmosphere that is so involving that even great problems in the game can be brushed aside as mere nuisances.
THE GOOD: Good concept and range in NCPs and plot. Map editor included.
THE BAD: Dated graphics, little atmospherics (sound), tedious inventory management. Combat poor.
SUMMARY: This reminds me of Ultima 8. That was good for it's time, but now dated and there have been many advancements in RPGs since then.
The item management is very bad, especially with followers and readable items, having to go between a number of subscreens to get the required result. A number of bugs in the game with the followers. One resulted in a reload because Vigel was trying to attack an enemy that was locked inside a building I was passing. I got stuck in combat mode too and had nothing to fight or no way in the building. Shocking...
