THE GOOD: Good...what's not good about this game? Superior gameplay...that is of it's time.THE BAD: Bad...the only thing I can think of is the graphics. Compared to now, they are crap! But that doesn't matter. Everything else is PERFECT! SUMMARY: Age of Empires II: Gold Edition is the best medieval war game there is. The Gold Edition is Age of Empires II: Age of Kings and Age of Empires II: The Conquerors Expansion. But the Gold Edition isn't just the two games in one box. It has special features like recorded games. You can choose to play as many different civilizations, ranging from the Britons to the Mongols to the Huns in this game. You can also play many campaingns. A few of them are Joan of Arc, Barbarosa, Atilla the Hun, and many others. Each civilization has it's own unique unit, and some have two! There are many different units you can command, such as Champions, Crossbowmen, Pikeman, and others. This game isn't easy, either. Each campaign has about 5 parts to it, each of them harder than the last. There are also population limits, the highest being 200. The only bad thing about the game is the graphics. They are really cheesy, but you can get over it. This game is impossible to stop playing. I hope you enjoy the game as I do. |

THE GOOD: A lot of conquest options to choose from...THE BAD: A little linear in army differences... SUMMARY: The nice thing about this game is it has great story lines in the conquest mode and a variety to choose from. It has excellent choice and variety of different military units. It also, has a decent amount of cultures to chose from. The most annoying thing would be the linear way in the armies. All armies had too similiar units. Making from one army to the next not much different. Thus not give much realistic base for the game. I would suggest this game to any RTS players, that do like military like games. If you are an RTS that like a lot of variety and distinguished military units. You might want to play the demo first. Overall, it is a pretty good game. Thank you for reading my review. |

THE GOOD: Graphics, sound, new things added from older gamesTHE BAD: Gets repetitive at times... SUMMARY: Ah, there's nothing like fighting an all-out-war on your computer screeen. And with Gold Edition, you can do just that! Gold Edition improves on the older Age of Empires games, with new research possibilities and civilizations. This game is very entertaining if you like strategy. Obviously, this is a war game where you must form and command an army. The difficulty ranges from easy to very hard, depending on which setting you choose. There are endless possibilities in this game. There's also many ways to win and not just by killing off all your opponents. Along with tons of different environments, civilizations, buildings, and fighters, Gold Edition is a rather impressive game. Although you may grow tired of it for some time, you'll probably get the urge to play it again after a while. It's pretty much up to you whether the game proves to be interesting or not, since you can control pretty much all aspects of it.

THE GOOD: -Battle system -Civs -Better pop limit -Better millitary unitsTHE BAD: not much SUMMARY: WAHOO! Ok, much better now. The population limit is up to 200 (yesss), millitary units are better, and they have formations! No more getting stuck in trees, these guys all walk together and go around any obstacles that are ahead of them instead of getting stuck in the forest and staying there till the end of the game. Replay value is great I'm still playing it sometimes when I get bored...yeah..lol. |
