Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare

Graphics: The most surreal and frightening environments I have ever seen. The character models are pretty standard, though, and their mouths don't move during in game cutscenes. The camera angle is fixed, Resident Evil-style, and things are hard to distinguish against the backround, also like Resident Evil.

Sound: Creepy creepy music and random evil sounds. Very very scary and similar to Resident Evil. The voice acting isn't so spectacular, though.

Gameplay: Again very similar to Resident Evil, collect things to unlock puzzles and doors while killing horrify creatures.

Controls: Somewhat akward controls, but there aren't that many buttons. You can't walk and shoot, either.

Overall: A near exact copy of Resident Evil, but since I haven't ever played it it's still new and interessting. If you're a RE fan it'll feel just like ANOTHER Resident Evil sequel.

THE GOOD:

THE GOOD:
Everything, but on the ps2 version the graphics are much better.

THE BAD:
Hmmmmm, I'll have to think about that.No, there's nothing bad about the title.

SUMMARY:
Bla,bla,bla, if you look to your left you shall see the printer, if you look to your right you see a window, up ahead comes the infamous computer. Now this computer is one of a kind windows 1902. I has 4 Kb memory and a clear 1 kb green and black screen. you can write stuff on it using a keboard but you can't use the internet or a printer, or a scanner , or a CD-r , or a digital camera yet because the won't be invented for another 90 years. As you can see, on your right you can see the time machine, and the flying car. not much use to us but.... yeah.

THE GOOD:
Graphics are almost too good. I felt sick in seeing so
much eye-candy. Beautiful Exterior graphics without a
doubt, so much so, that I hated being inside. It looks
like Painter6 Impasto brushes were in use?

THE BAD:

Halfway through Aline's game I quit, the puzzles were
complex enough but awfully boring. I tried and tried, but there's not enough Horror for me. For once I'd
like to see a Shotgun with more realism, Have you ever fired one? Up close, those zombies would be paste on the wallpaper. I guess it's going to be up to me to do a Horror game fellows (yes, I make games), when you come to a sealed door just stand back a little and point the barrel towards the stubborn door and fire, now you can walk through it without any trouble. Don't give me that "game-play" stuff! Imagination can go a long ways, Alfred Hitchcock used it well. A sure fire way to get a thrill is to play "Alone in the Dark" ALONE IN THE DARK!! Love those spooky sounds!
