"TrickStyle is certainly a fun racer, with gorgeous graphics and more than decent music and sound effects. As an arcade racing fan, I really enjoy the special thrill of the fast aboveground hoverboard action. But there is nothing really innovative in this title to distinguish it from the vast array of other highly competent arcade racers out there. If you want a break from car and bike racing and crave the feeling of a breeze in your face as you speed along winding passageways trying to keep your balance on a fragile board, then go out and buy this one and you will not be let down."
"So basically, it's a decent single player racing game with some flaws. On the PC, that doesn't really cut it anymore. Let's just hope that if Acclaim makes a sequel, they decide to spend a little more quality time with the PC port..."
"Trickstyle isn't a breakthrough game in any regard. It isn't particularly new or intelligent. It is, though, a very well-designed twist on traditional console racing fare. By incorporating the snow/hover/whatever-boarding aspect into the game, and quite seamlessly, Acclaim has come up with a racing title that will surely give you hours of enjoyment."
"Finger-fumbling aside, TrickStyle is a solid arcade "skate board" racer. It's fast, it's fun, but, unfortunately it's just more of the same arcade-style racing -- be it car, bike, or board -- that we've seen before."
"Add that to the lackluster sound (except for the voices of the racially stereotyped characters, which are downright aggravating), and you end up with a average, unimpressive, at times frustrating game that needs a more serious patch than the one currently available. The flashy graphics just aren't enough to satisfy, and the tricks are nice, but unnecessary. Don't bother with this one until it works better, and the irate Asian racer no longer passes you while saying, with full chop-suey accentuation, "sooo suuu meeee!" It's almost as nauseating as the slogans on the box."
