THE GOOD:
The graphics are reall inovative, the audio(some voice-overs)are good, nice weapon effects, can play as Nod or GDI,really cool vehicles, nice structures to build,MULTI-PLAYER!! and finally it's just plain good fun!

THE BAD:
Nod is so difficult to play against!very difficicult enemys and some voice-overs aren't state of the art!

SUMMARY:
Hey people just got one of my favourite RTS games out there:Command and Counquer:Tiberian Sun.Now this game was really good! The voice overs were ok but the graphics and sound effects make up for it!The lasting appeal is not to bad but it is really fun to play multi-player.The structures to build were good and the soldiers were really fun to see go into battle.Overall i definitly recomend this game to RTS fans or war game fans just be warned it is really difficult(except in the begining)

Grade:A

PC  GDI v Nod again 4.6

THE GOOD:
Good continuation of the GDI v Nod storyline
James Earl Jones

THE BAD:
Change to the Mammoth Tank

SUMMARY:
This game carries on after the first C&C game. Although the Temple of Nod was destroyed in the first game, Kane (the Nod commander) was never actually found which will prove to have been a big mistake. Although their leader was wiped out, the Brotherhood of Nod carried on even though GDI said that it was no more. Well Kane has returned and GDI has to deal with their old nemesis again. You still have the brilliant videos of you receiving your missions and if you play from GDI your commander is played by James Earl Jones, most famous for doing the voice of Darth Vader in the Star Wars trilogy.

Like the first C&C game your source of income is Tiberium which needs to be harvested. This time there are two varieties, the old green and a new blue type. The blue type is twice as valuable and will get you twice the amount of credits but it is also explosive and kills infantry faster so be careful. Power is still essential for your base to run but there is a new feature to combat this. You can disable any building that requires power to run. This will stop it from working, but it also reduces your power threshold by the amount it was using. So if you find your base underpowered and you’re under attack you can take some back defences or high power buildings offline temporarily and that will bring your base defences back online and save your base. When the emergency is over you can bring the buildings back online and build more power plants and carry on.

Both Nod and GDI have one extremely powerful unit. For Nod it’s the Cyborg Commando and for GDI it’s the Mammoth Mk II. Nod’s Commando fires a very powerful green ball of plasma and can kill any unit or building in only a few shots. He can also heal himself by standing on Tiberium like and normal Cyborg. The Mammoth Mk II fires a rail gun that can only be used on a flat land effectively but can pass through any unit it hits. You can only build one of these units at a time due to their immense power and they can turn the tide of battle almost on their own. I think that’s a necessary touch because 10 of these Mammoth Tanks would be almost unstoppable. I do miss the old Mammoth Tanks though and I preferred those ones. The final mission of GDI’s campaign does allow you to use three of the old Mammoth Tanks, which I enjoyed doing.

There are too many new units to name and explain individually, but one other I will mention is the Disrupter. This GDI vehicle fires a wide green beam that does damage to the target and anything that gets in its way. It is a highly powerful vehicle, but quite easy to destroy for some units. It can go toe to toe with the Mammoth Tank though, so remember that if you play skirmish or online. It’s one of my favourites but needs protection from air units. For Nod my favourite is the repair vehicle. This allows you to repair damaged vehicles on the field without having to bring them back to base. The ability to heal on the go has always appealed to me and this vehicle allowed your attack force to survive for much longer before being destroyed.

GDI still has access to the Ion Cannon, but this time Nod has a Multi Missile. This explodes over where you targeted (which causes damage) and then breaks up and about 4 separate missiles drift down causing more damage. Nod’s Obelisk of Light is still around and is more powerful than it was before. But the recharge time between shots is now considerably longer so, more than before, this can’t be the only thing defending your base. But Nod has got a brilliant base defence now, the ability the cloak a large radius of your base. This requires a massive amount of power and you should always build two Advanced Power Plants before building this structure. But in multiplayer games this can prove invaluable as the enemy can’t see where you have key structures. GDI has a Mobile Sensor Array which will uncloak things within a certain radius but they are easily destroyed. The cloaking makes no difference against computer players, but against humans it makes their job a whole lot harder as they can’t plan their route as well.

The ground can now also be destroyed by high powered weapons. The ground will get depressed (literally, forced down) when an Ion Cannon strikes or a Multi Missile explodes as well as in other circumstances. Since you can only build on completely flat land, disrupting the ground can be an effective way of preventing an opponent from building a base. To prevent this both sides can put Concrete down which cannot be destroyed. It also makes units travel faster so it pays to lay as much down as you can early on as it may save you later on if the battle drags on.

A new thing to this game is the veteran system. If a unit manages to kill so many units then it will get two stripes below it, which means it’s been promoted, this makes it stronger. If this unit manages to kill so many more it will get a star below them meaning they are a Veteran. Most units have a special ability when a Veteran such as the ability to heal to half health or gives it a new weapon. This touch encouraged you to repair units to try and make them stronger rather than just replacing them all the time.

I played this game over and over, mainly the skirmish mode where you take on other computer players and try and kill everyone else. But once again Westwood surpassed themselves in the storyline and gameplay of the main game. The storyline flowed smoothly once again and everything you did had a purpose. The graphics were done well enough not to complain about. The game wasn’t too easy and you could adjust the difficulty of the opponents as well. Playing with or against human players was great fun on this game because the Super Weapons weren’t too powerful. All in all this was a great game.

THE GOOD:
Gameplay, multiplayer, campaign, weapons, tactics

THE BAD:
Sides Uneven, Build Anywhere Bug

SUMMARY:
This game was the first game I ever bought, and in fact saw my friend play it a while ago on his old computer, and I begged my parents for a computer of my own to play it on. Since then, all my friends have bought it, we play it regulary, and even have LAN parties at my school with it. It's a terrific game, and it's a shame that Westwood doesn't make C&C games anymore. All I can say is that if you want a fun game to play that won't stress your system requirements, then this is that game.

THE GOOD:
Great units, great missions.

THE BAD:
Can get really boring after a while, graphics are totally low, and not that addictive.

SUMMARY:
Though the storyline is quite interesting, the game is just bad. I'm somebody who looks for good games with good graphics, and this game just does not fit that discription. I'd suggest you just leave this game on the shelf, as there's alot of games better than this.

THE GOOD:
-missions
-the different vechicles

THE BAD:
-nod is over powerd
-cartoony graphics
-the mommoth mkii

SUMMARY:
well this is a good game, but it doesnt live up to teh other RTSes that westwood has come out with. for some reason they seem to be going towards cartoons instead of the good old style of 3d cg characters and vechicles.

this game plays like all teh other RTSes. click drag click. thats pretty much it. nice and simple.

the sounds are great and really add to the game. each character have his own sayings and each vechicle type has a different voice.

its a pretty good RTS so if your a fan of them i suggest your get it.

THE GOOD:
missions, machines

THE BAD:
none

SUMMARY:
You can play by your self against the computers as any group. Or you can do missions which are okay but i prefer just playing against the computer and fighting to the death. This game has awesome graphics and awesome gameplay. I recomend buying this game when ever you can get a hold of it. But be sure to by it with its expansion: Command and Conquer:Tiberian Sun Firestorm. Which is even better. It doesnt matter which buy you need it.
