SUMMARY: We want women! the staff of 'ea sports'should appreciate the desire of sex craved cyber nerds such as yourself, to be able to facilitate the inclusion of the 'other sex'(normal people call them women)
I have six suggestions that I hope will markedly improve the game 1. Include some of those finely built women's rugby teams
2. Include 'All Star' women's rugby teams in which the 'player' has the choice of many, many, many lovely ladies to contend and go the 'full eighty metres' with.
3. Include a 'custom function' in which the player can create his 'Dream Team'
4.Include cheerleaders. wot the hell include a team of cheerleaders on all four sides of the field to assist in viewing pleasure.
5. Include streakers. What is rugby without them?
6. This would all be wasted without SERIOUS improvement in camera facilities. We want close-ups of those cat fights!
THE GOOD: totally addictive; superlative fun laughing at little monkey people who supposedly resemble the legendary heros of our nations sole passion run up and dowp a patch of virtual grass making funny uggh-uggh-uggh grunts as they fight off barely recognisable as human opponents trying to tackle them, grunt some more as they pack down for a ruck or scrum (I never knew the differance,) finally flailing their arms about like the simian creatures used to model the players actions after the rare occurance of scoring a try
THE BAD: heavily pixilated, gameplay resembles pac man in the level of detail. supprisingly this actually adds to the games character. also it lacks in realism, the punch ups and swearing at the ref that adds to the fun in much the same way as the firey crashes of nascar racing break up the monotony of big cars going round in a circle is notably absent, and the game is worse off for it. finally, apparently the representation of the offside rule is TOTALLY naff
THE GOOD: Good player likeness (except for the lack of dreads on Tana and the fact that the halfbacks are as solid as Jonah, and just as easy to tackle) Good variety of stadia
The game seriously needs decent commentators such as Keith Quinn Rucks aren't particularly realistic; they are all in a scrum formation. NO SUPER 12.
SUMMARY: This game comes close to being as good as a rugby game can be, however being a pre-programmed computer game, it lacks the energy and the random nature of the game that epitomizes it's very soul. They try hard, but I think they should stick to their pretty little soccer games and leave the art of making good rugger to the real men.
THE GOOD: all real players from the time it was made, good graphics, large squad to choose from
THE BAD: quite hard, especially for beginners, rucks and mauls are very hard to work
SUMMARY: coming from new zealand where rugby is the national sport and the only thing were really good at this game is a must have. this is definitely the best rugby game i have played but could do with some modifications such as a better ruck and maul system, better player likenesses(wheres tana umagas dreadlocks?) and little things like jonah lomu being tackled so easily(it just doesnt happen!!) but overall it is a great free flowing game and has great graphics to boot, there are a lot of players to choose from which is great. so in conclusion this game is a must have for rugbyheads. (a super 12 option would make it the best game ever!!)
THE GOOD: WEll yeah its pretty good. Get it if u like footy. Once u get into the harder difficulties it becomes more fun.
THE BAD: No Super 12 and i want more teams.
SUMMARY: Well its a good game only once u get into the hareder difficuties. this is only because it becomes more tactical. I like it cause i really like rugby. Please, with the next release make th e super 12 and more tams, maybe even include things like create a player and create a team.
THE GOOD: Well its a good game and Cardiff is there.
THE BAD: well rucks are slow to form, and even when your pack is bigger then the other side you lose, if your using the keyboard the manual does not explain every thing well enough, sometimes the passing is abit dodge
SUMMARY: other wise this would be a good game. PLEASE develop it more this could be a VERY GOOD game.
THE GOOD: Awesome game, everything kicks ass except...
THE BAD: It bloody well crashes every game u play and u have to restart your computer
SUMMARY: It's bloody annoying how it crashes. And it's not only mine - heaps of people's games crash. Is there anything to fix it? I contacted EA and the slack f%^#! won't get back to me. Anyone, if u know how to fix it email @ firstname.lastname@example.org
THE GOOD: Realistic player animations, stadiums and sound effects.
THE BAD: Slow rucks, virtually no offsides, incorrect interpretation of rules, difficulty in tackling......the list goes on.....
SUMMARY: I'd waited two and a half years for this game after finding a "Rugby World Cup 1999 coming soon...." logo on the EA Aussie website in Jan 98. After 4 months of playing it I'm left with a feeling that the game hasn't quite lived up to expectations. The two main grips are that rucks are slow to form (players just stand around the tackled player on the ground) and there is no offside rule applied to CPU players (intercepts are a common occurance by CPU players blatantly offside). For the player willing to accept these failings there is quite a bit to enjoy. The set plays particularly from scrums provide a truckload of options, the goalkicking is realistic and being able to replay particularly satisfying try scoring moments. It's a game with a lot of potential and I hope EA continue to d...
THE GOOD: Excellent graphics, fun to play, interesting.
THE BAD: Weird cameras views, no player bench, no cameramen.
SUMMARY: The game has many good options but others should have been included eg. more teams, custom tournaments. The players and the fields are very realistic. The demo is very sitingy as it only lets you score twice b4 it's half time. But overall it's a very cool game.
