"Day of the Destroyer takes players to a new continent: Jadame, a wildland area mostly populated by creatures of the darker races (Trolls, Dark Elves and Minotaurs)."

"You may initially wonder why you’re playing, but 40 hours later you realize you had a pretty good time, in that traditional, albeit all-too-familiar, hack-and-slash role-playing kind of way. It delivers exactly what you expect from a Might and Magic—here’s hoping the next edition tries for a few surprises."

"All in all, Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer is different enough to make it worth your money. It’s a very good RPG. I wasted hours playing it. But this is solely because all of the ones previous to it were good as well. Bottom line, it’s Might and Magic VII with a different plot."
"Day of the Destroyer fits in well within the Might and Magic series of games, and if you like the previous offerings then you could find Day of the Destroyer a fun experience. You should be warned though that the gameplay and plot is weaker this time. Balance has been thrown out the window with the inclusion of the dragon race as an option to bring into your party; not that the Might and Magic series has been known for its balance with its character selection in the past."
"Might And Magic VIII is a class act. It combines a huge land, populated by tons of monsters, and glued together with buckets of quests, entertaining combat, and deep character generation/advancement. It's fun, it's absorbing, but new? Not! It's basically the same game Might And Magic VI installed on your computer, only the tracks, drivers, and color schemes have been updated."
